Echoing what others have mentioned, I too received a dodgy call purporting to be from HMRC, claiming there was a fraudulent tax inquiry linked to my details. They insisted that if I didn’t press 1 to connect with an agent, I’d face arrest. Utter nonsense! I've now blocked the number: 0300 200 2226 - caller ID was the same, 0300 200 2226.

I've just experienced the same phone call myself and took the prudent step of blocking the number straight away. The caller claimed I was supposedly being investigated by HMRC. The number in question was 0300 200 2226.
