Watch out for those 0300 calls - total scam, best thing is to just hang up straight away and forget about it. HMRC won’t ring you up out of the blue, they always send letters first so it’s easy to verify with them yourself. There’s loads of scammers out there having a go, trying to trick people into handing over money. If you get an automated call, don’t even bother listening, just end it. And if it’s a real person, just tell them to buzz off!

Got a call from someone pretending to be HMRC claiming the police would come after me if I didn’t pay some taxes right away. I knew it was bogus so I just ended the call straight away. Total scam!

Beware, this is a nasty HMRC scam! They called my mum and told her she was going to be arrested, which made her really upset and crying. I grabbed the phone and gave it right back to them, swearing like mad, and the caller, who had an Asian accent, swore back at me! This kind of scam is super common. Make sure you report them so others can be warned too!

Got a call on a bank holiday Monday at about 5.49pm, so I guess the caller was quite active for a holiday. Could hardly make out what he was saying and then he just dropped the call. The automated message sounded pretty legit, especially when it said to press 1 to reach someone from HMRC.

Got a call from some so-called "tax officials" saying there's a warrant for my arrest. I played along and said, "Yeah, they're outside right now with a dog checking the place out. Who's calling?" Then I goes on to say the Inspector wants a word with them, told them to hold on. Next thing, surprise surprise, they just hang up! Honestly, who would be daft enough to fall for such nonsense? What a load of rubbish!

I didn’t pick up, but they dropped a voicemail saying it’s HMRC about some fraud warrant. Totally not true because, 1) It was a bank holiday, so HMRC wouldn’t be open 2) HMRC normally send letters, they don’t ring out of the blue 3) How on earth would HMRC even have your mobile number? I’ve blocked the number, and honestly, you should do the same!
