Received a rather alarming automated call today, claiming there’s a fraud case registered in my name. It urged me to hit '1' to sort it out, otherwise I’d be facing imminent arrest. I didn’t stick around to find out more - I hung up straight away and made sure to block the number. Quite dodgy, if you ask me!

I had previously blocked a fraudulent number associated with this one and reported a phishing email to HMRC, who kindly acknowledged my report with a thank-you message. I've now taken the step to block this number as well. I recommend that everyone sends emails to HMRC regarding these issues; the more reports they receive, the greater the chances they'll take action against it.

It was undeniably a dodgy phone call - a rather insistent automated message purporting to be from HMRC, alleging some sort of tax fraud inquiry. They had the audacity to instruct me to "press 1." I thought it wiser to simply hang up rather than entertain such nonsense.
