Apologies for the mix-up earlier; I meant to refer to this number. They called me claiming to be from the tax fraud office, insisting that if I didn’t press 1 right away, a warrant for my arrest would be issued. Naturally, I decided to disconnect the call.

I just had a rather alarming call where an automated voice instructed me to hit 1 if I wanted to get through to HMRC. Apparently, if I didn’t comply, a fraud investigation would be initiated against me and I’d face arrest. Total scam, that one - just a robotic voice on the other end!
