I received a rather suspicious call claiming to be from HMRC. They instructed me to press 1, and a rather flustered voice, which sounded quite African, introduced himself as David, or something similar. In the background, there was a distinct ringing sound along with some sort of chatter. The number was 0300 200 5892. Interestingly enough, I had just been researching a tax refund a few days prior, so perhaps they’re just trying to catch on to that. It’s funny how HMRC seems more focused on the little fish than the affluent ones, isn’t it? The caller's details were as mentioned above.

I received a rather alarming phone call from this number claiming to be from HMRC. They threatened that if I didn’t press 1, I would face an arrest warrant. Quite outrageous, really! The number was +443002000524.
