Got a call supposedly from HMRC telling me I had a criminal case for tax fraud and that if I didn’t press 1 to speak to an officer, they’d send a warrant to arrest me straight away. It was one of those automated messages and they never said my name, so I was pretty sure it was fake. HMRC normally writes to you with all your personal details, they don’t just ring out of the blue. Plus, arrest warrants come from the courts, not HMRC handing them out randomly like flyers. - number was 03002000165.

Got a call from someone pretending to be HMRC, saying I had a tax fraud case and owed £2150 or I'd get arrested. They were really aggressive and I ended up arguing with them for about 20 minutes before they finally gave up and hung up. Proper dodgy character. - caller: +443002000165

Got a call about some tax fraud thing, said I owed money or a warrant’d be out for me. Sounded pretty dodgy if you ask me.
