I received a call from someone claiming to be with the HMRC's fraud department. I told them I'd call back after verifying with HMRC. Unsurprisingly, HMRC hadn’t attempted to reach out to me at all, so it’s clear this was a scam.

I got a call from someone claiming to be HMRC telling me that there was some fraud case against me. They even said the police would be at my door in half an hour if I didn’t pay up. Totally felt like a scam to me!

Got a call from this number about half an hour ago, definitely not legit.

I looked them up on Google and it shows Empower AI. Didn't pick up the call but right after they rung again. I just let it ring through. Usually, if it’s a Scottish number, I’d pick up out of curiosity, but if it turns out to be a sales call I just say "Hold on a sec" and then shout a random name like I’m calling my dad before leaving the phone. Love giving them a bit of cheek like that! My little way of getting back at them lol.

Got a call warning me about an arrest, but there was so much noise in the background I just ended the call. I’ve blocked the number and reported it now.

Got a call from some bloke saying he's from HMRC. Total scam! Had a recorded voice telling me there's some fraud case open on me. I couldn’t be arsed to keep listening to that nonsense, so I just hung up. Have blocked the number now. Watch out, it’s definitely dodgy!

Got a call today from someone saying they were HMRC, accusing me of owing back taxes and threatening legal trouble. When I asked what country they were ringing from, they hung up straight away! Just want to warn others, THIS IS DEFINITELY A SCAM.
