Got a text from DFRA that had a YouTube link to finish an SFI application. Didn't know what to make of it at first.

Just got a super long message left on our landline from someone claiming to be from Defra about a cow sold at Mold market and some sort of review. Thing is, we don’t actually live on a farm, just close to one. We’ve been living in a new build in Saughall for around seven years now, but apparently the phone number we use was once connected to a farm and got recycled to us. Every now and then, we get random calls about hay bales or farm stuff! Honestly, it’s such a bizarre and funny situation to deal with 🤣

I never pick up calls from strange numbers without first looking them up here. If I don’t recognise it, I just block it straight away. If it was really urgent, they’d probably send a text or an email instead, which gives me a better chance to check who it is - guess that’s why they usually don’t bother!

This number really belongs to a government body. On mobiles, the caller might show as Ahvia - that was their old name, standing for Animal Health and Veterinary Laboratories Agency. They've since changed to APHA, which means Animal & Plant Health Agency. They’re linked to DEFRA, the Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs. According to the gov.uk site, if you’re in England, you should ring the DEFRA Rural Services helpline at 03000 200 301 and then pick the right options to reach APHA.

Some bloke rang me earlier claiming to be from a company. He went on about how much cash I could save by getting solar panels, but he never once mentioned which firm he was with. Got fed up and just hung up on him.

I dunno if it's some kind of prank or what, but they keep ringing me over and over. Whenever I pick up, they just hang up straight away. Ive blocked one number but then a new one pops up doing exactly the same thing. Really annoying!

This number rang me bright and early today, but I usually ignore calls from unknown numbers. Still, it’s a bit worrying to get a call at such an unearthly hour, especially when you’ve got elderly family members around - it makes you fear the worst straight away when the phone goes off so early.

Got a call on my mobile but didn’t pick up. Left a voicemail with a bloke speaking with a north eastern accent, something about wanting to speak to a certain woman (not me) to update her address details on an account. He asked her to ring back on 0300 020 030°.

So strange, got called from this number twice today, 19th May, and both times all I heard was some piano tunes - no one talking or anything. Honestly, kinda creepy at the very least.

I received two calls within a mere ten minutes, but interestingly, no message was left. I decided not to pick up, as I didn't recognise the number, and based on previous comments I've seen, I plan to keep ignoring any further calls from them.
