Today, 30th June 2026, I got a call from someone trying to sell me damp proofing. They began quizzing me about what kind of house I live in. I ended up just hanging up.

Had a few calls from someone asking for the company director, but I didn’t know who they meant. They said they were from British Gas at first, but when I told them we’re not customers, they quickly changed it saying ‘I never mentioned British Gas’. The caller got quite rude and cut me off. This has happened about four times already.

When I picked up, there was nothing but silence on the other end. I reckon it was some automated call. Just caught a faint noise like a busy call centre before they hung up.

Dodnt pick up, sounds like a scam call to me. Just ignore it!

This number has rung me twice now and it's clearly a scam, probably some auto-dialer. They’ve somehow linked my father-in-law’s name with my mobile number. I told them he’s not social and definitely wouldn’t be chatting to anyone like that. Honestly, that’s pretty much spot on with the truth of it.

Got a call from 0292687248 with some recorded message about my internet being cut off. Bit dodgy if you ask me.

I've been plagued by bothersome and rather intrusive phone calls, all fishing for my personal details. It's truly infuriating!

I just received a call from this number, but they disconnected the moment I answered. I appreciate the helpful advice shared here-there’s no way I'm ringing them back!

I've received a staggering six calls in just three days from this number. When I kindly requested that they cease calling me, the woman on the line became quite aggressive, hurling profanities and making threats. She claimed she would share my number with everyone in her workplace, ensuring I’d be inundated with calls daily for eternity. Honestly, steer clear of this number-it's a right nuisance!

I received a rather suspicious call from a chap claiming to be "Mark Williams," who apparently works for Global Support. He proceeded to inform me that my computer might be experiencing some sluggishness. When I requested his contact number, he surprisingly stated that he wasn't permitted to share that information! Clearly, this is a ruse aimed at gaining remote access to your device.

I've just received a rather alarming call from someone claiming to be named John. When I probed a bit further about his location, he mentioned Pakistan. Things took a turn for the bizarre when I started inquiring about my computer; he then made an outrageous threat, saying he would send someone from Pakistan to come and "do me in." At that point, I promptly hung up. Honestly, what a nerve! It's absolutely outrageous!

Received a call today (January 2015) from someone claiming there were issues with my computer. The catch? I exclusively use my smartphone and don’t even own a computer! Nevertheless, I played along with their charade. Be wary, as they attempt to obtain remote access to your device, so don’t be taken in by their ruse! If they do ring you, keep them chatting for as long as possible-why not turn the tables and enjoy a bit of mischief at their expense!

Ah, just another day in the world of dodgy phone calls! This chap rang me, insisting he was from "Technical Support" and had a bone to pick with my computer. Feeling cheeky, I pretended to not have a clue and blurted out, "So, you're from Amazon, then?" He chuckled and promptly denied it. Then, he dived into a whole monologue about my device being riddled with malware and sluggish as a tortoise. I couldn’t help myself and replied, “But I don’t own a computer - only my Kindle Fire!” At that point, he abruptly ended the call. Classic!

Received a phone call from this number earlier today. An individual with an Asian or Indian accent claimed he was from the Technical Support team, asserting that my computer had been sluggish of late. I mirrored his statements back to him, and he virtually disconnected in a flash. Pure scam, scam, scam!!!

This number has been ringing me non-stop, and I've noticed the calls cut off as soon as I pick up. My instinct tells me they're hoping I'll redial, likely to some pricey line, which has all the hallmarks of a scam if you ask me. It's incredibly frustrating!

What a right con! I received a call from someone claiming to represent a global internet service provider, insisting that my Windows machine (I use a Mac, mind you) was riddled with viruses that they were monitoring. When I pressed for details about their identity, they promptly disconnected the call. It seems they were hoping I would ring them back. Quite dodgy, if you ask me!

Today I got a call from someone speaking with a really hard to understand foreign accent, trying to talk about some supposed computer support issue that doesn’t even exist. Pretty sure it’s just another one of those "we spotted a problem on your PC" scams doing the rounds. Not sure how they come up with these numbers though. The 0292 bit usually means Cardiff, but the 02924 code feels like it’s coming from abroad, maybe somewhere like Rajasthan or Germany? Either way, if you spot this number, best just ignore it and spare yourself the hassle.

We've recently received a call from this number, claiming that our computer is infected with viruses and they were trying to fleece us out of £157 for some sort of new antivirus protection. Quite suspicious, if you ask me!

I recently encountered the same ring tone on my phone. I was curious to know whether this call would incur any charges on my end, especially since I spent about six minutes on the line, just to keep her occupied.
