After reading the other comments, it's obvious this is one of those annoying cold calls, and seems pretty dodgy with all the swearing and rude remarks people mentioned. If they ring again, I’ll be blowing my whistle right down the phone!

Then, interestingly enough, last Friday at precisely 12:22 pm, I was also on the receiving end of a mystery call from someone based in Edinburgh, Scotland. I opted not to pick up either call and have since put them on my blocked list. It makes me ponder just how many other numbers they could have in the UK to continue this relentless cold calling spree.

Got a call from an asian guy saying he was from nationwide building society. I dont bank with them at all. He already had my name and postcode. I refused to say anything until he explained what the call was about. Then he said it was regarding my head and his tail, which made me say “sorry what?” He then repeated my postcode and asked if it was my address. When I asked where he got my info, he just hung up on me. Strange stuff!

I recently received a rather dubious call, with the caller claiming that my number was tied to a road traffic incident from the past couple of years-an affair for which I was supposedly not at fault. Naturally, I decided to engage with her to get transferred to someone higher up. When I inquired about the source of my phone number, she cited the ‘Road Standards Agency’. I then pointed out to her that such an entity doesn’t exist in the UK, and even if it did, they wouldn’t be giving out personal numbers like confetti. I suggested that their organisation must have purchased a list of contact details and was now unsolicitedly reaching out to people, urging them to make claims. Credit where it’s due; she remained on the line rather than abruptly disconnecting, but I find these sorts of callers infuriating. They’re actively trying to persuade individuals to claim for something that simply isn’t there.
