I received a call from Eon Next concerning my energy account. I'd previously reached out to them via email with a question, and they got back to me over the phone. Totally legit!

I got a phone call earlier, purportedly from the EON Smart Meter Division. They were keen to schedule an appointment for the installation of a new smart meter at my place.

I received a call from the landline number 0292222992, which is based in Cardiff. Apparently, a lady on the other end claimed to be representing EON NEXT.

I've had my smart meter set up already, so I decided to disregard this call.

Over the past few days, this number has been persistent, calling my home phone as well as my mobile multiple times. I've chosen not to answer, and curiously, they never leave a voicemail. I checked with EON, and they've confirmed they haven't been trying to reach me, so it's quite clear this is a dodgy scheme. Truly despicable individuals!

I had quite a nice conversation with someone from the NHS who was doing a survey on the topic of AIDS relating to both snails and women.

Despite having blocked the number, I keep receiving calls incessantly from this particular line, even though EON has assured me that a smart meter is unnecessary. This has become rather frustrating, so I’m now in the process of filing a complaint.

I received calls on both my mobile and home phone from this number earlier today, and I'm almost certain it’s E.ON again. I've expressed my disinterest in having a smart meter installed on countless occasions, yet they persistently keep bothering me! It’s rather infuriating!

Today, we had an incoming call that our answering machine caught, but the caller hung up abruptly without leaving a message. Could this be considered a "Cold Call"? From what I've gathered, making unsolicited calls is against the law here in the UK. If that's the case, what steps can we take to pursue legal action against the caller?

I was interrupted by Call Guardian, so I've gone ahead and blocked it on my device.

Should those callers reach out once more, it would be prudent to inquire about the protocol if the meter malfunctions. The rechargeable batteries within the display aren’t everlasting, after all. It might be worth pressing them on how one goes about replacing those batteries.

I reminded them that I've repeatedly requested them to take my details off their marketing list, but they replied that they're legally permitted to reach out occasionally. For over a year, they've been pestering us, offering free Costa coffee as a bribe, and now they're resorting to intimidation tactics. We've firmly said no all year long. They can stick that smart meter in an unwelcome place, quite frankly!

Got yet another call from EON Next, the second one in just two days! I'm pretty certain it's some kind of scam since I'm not even a customer of theirs.

I find it amusing how some folk are quick to shout 'scam!' or 'fake!' just to avoid dealing with them. Truth be told, it's actually E-ON reaching out. They do have a tendency to inundate you with phone calls, which can be rather vexing, to say the least!

Despite the fact that I’ve blacklisted the number, it continually crops up on my phone, attempting to get in touch with me at least two or three times weekly. These chaps are nothing but fraudulent con artists, so steer clear, steer clear, steer clear!

I received a call from EON about setting up a smart meter. They mentioned that I need to act promptly since my current meter is nearing the end of its lifespan. I couldn't help but chuckle when I replied to the lady, "That's a first for me! As an electrical engineer, I must say I’ve never heard of that before in my field."

Received four calls over the course of three days without anyone picking up. Disturbingly, they woke my elderly mother—she's 86—on two occasions. It’s glaringly clear this is a scam!
