I picked up the phone and heard a recorded message saying something about recruitment and procurement, asking me to call back and they'd get in touch right away. Sounds like a dodgy scam to me, especially since I’m retired and definitely not job hunting or reached out to anyone about any kind of work.

Got a call from someone saying they were Domestic and General, saying my insurance needed renewing. I told them they’d got the wrong person because the items they mentioned aren’t actually covered on my policy. Felt like they were just fishing for info or something.

I've been getting constant calls from these folks trying to sell insurance for my household gadgets. I’ve told them loads of times that I don’t insure any of my appliances. Now, I just ignore them and let them ramble to an empty room.

Got a call about some home appliance insurance they said I signed up for like 4 years back, covering 3 different items. They wanted me to verify the details, or at least provide info, so I went along with it for a bit. They then put me through to another department to wrap things up. When the person asked for the expiry date on my debit card, I said no and quickly ended the call.

I got a call telling me my home appliance insurance needed renewing. When I asked what appliance it was, the woman said the washing machine. I told her it’s more than 13 years old and I’ve never taken out insurance on it or anything else. This number has called me a few times before. I can spot a scam a mile off. Watch out, especially if you’re elderly.

Could be anything really, but it definitely smells like a scam to me.

Bloody nuisance this number from Cardiff! It used to call pretty often for some time, thankfully I had my answerphone on which catches the message if I don’t pick up. Then it just went quiet for a bit. But today, on the 14th of July, just past 6.20pm, the same number popped up on my landline once more!

This number has been driving me mad! It’s a Cardiff one, and it used to call me quite often for a bit. Luckily, if I don’t pick up, my answerphone catches the message. I received a dodgy call from a lady with a thick accent attempting to peddle some sort of extended warranty for appliances. She wanted my address and other personal information. It's clearly a scam! Don't fall for it, folks! Stay vigilant!

Got a silent ring from 02921390037 today. Found this on OFCOM’s site about it: they’re cracking down hard on these quiet calls. Basically, if someone keeps dropping calls or doesn’t say a word, OFCOM can step in and slap fines up to £2 million. They’re always keeping an eye on complaints about this kind of nuisance and won’t hesitate to investigate if folks aren’t playing by the rules.

I got a call about renewing some sort of home appliance insurance, which I don't even have. I kept saying I never took out any insurance, but the person calling wouldn’t listen and kept going on about it. In the end, I just ended the call.

Got a call from a bloke with a British accent, asking straight away for my dad by his first name, then he just ended the call real quick. Seems like that dodgy "Home Insurance" con that loads of folks have mentioned before.

I got a call from someone saying my home alliance insurance was up for renewal. They mentioned since I hadn’t made any claims in a year, my premium had dropped. They also offered to include some extra gadgets in the policy. The person wanted to connect me with their manager to double check everything and get the paperwork done, which obviously meant they were going to ask for my bank info. I just ended the call before that happened!

Got a call from what said it was a pharmacy, but all I got was an automated message apologising for missing us and promising to ring back the next day about insurance for our household gadgets. Since we're a company, it’s clearly a dodgy call trying to scam us.

Got a call from 0292 1390037 today. Totally dodgy. The person claimed to be from Domestic Appliances, offering to renew my washing machine insurance. Thing is, I’d already sorted that out a few months back. Plus, the price she mentioned was way less than what I paid, which felt fishy. They tried to get my credit card info, but I didn’t fall for it. Definitely a scam, so don’t hand over any of your details to them!

Got a call from an automated number with a woman’s voice saying she couldn’t get me at that moment. Funny thing is, she was the one ringing me! Really irritating and smells like a scam to me.

Had a bit of a laugh with this dodgy caller. Right from the start, I knew it was a scam and decided to mess about with him for a good quarter of an hour, feeding him all sorts of nonsense. Judging by the accent, I think he was from somewhere in the Far East, and his English wasn’t great. After a while, I’m pretty sure he cottoned on that I was having a laugh at his expense. If you ever want to get a bit of revenge on these scam people, I’d suggest spinning yarns and wasting their time - it’s oddly satisfying and might just save someone else from falling for their tricks.

I received a call about renewing what they claimed was some kind of insurance for household appliances. To be honest, I had no clue that I even had such a policy! When I pressed the caller for specifics, they mentioned a supposed start date from three years back. I firmly told them I wasn't interested in renewing, but now I find myself wishing I had asked more about this elusive "insurance"-how it was initially set up, the payment details, and so on. It’s all quite baffling!
