Got a call from some supposed insurance lot saying they couldn’t reach me and that they'd ring back later? How does that even make sense - being told they can’t call me right now...? Bit dodgy if you ask me.

Got a call about insuring my home appliances but when I asked for specifics on what they were covering, they had no clue. Then the number was blocked so couldn’t call them back. Definitely sounds like a dodgy insurance scam to me.

Picked up the call, but it was just a recorded message from a woman speaking in that posh English accent. She said something like, "Sorry we missed you today regarding your home appliance insurance, we'll ring you back tomorrow." I don’t even have that kind of insurance nor do I want it. Looks like a typical scam trying to push people into paying for rubbish they don't want. Just blocked the number straight away.

Some bloke rang and asked if I was the person he wanted, but I told him that they don’t live here anymore, then he just ended the call. We’re getting bombarded with calls lately about dodgy washing machine guarantees.

Some Asian woman from Domestic and General called me up, saying I’ve got a cover with them. Told her I don’t have anything like that at all. Seems like a scam to me.

Got a call from a young woman, sounded like she had a slight accent, and there was that typical call centre racket in the background. She never said her name or which company she was from, just kept saying "hello" a couple of times before asking for "Mrs. Achmed." I just ended the call there. Funny thing is, my Unknown/Nuisance Call List says a similar call came from 02920-958719 around midday on 16th March 2022.

Got another call this week from Domestic Appliances, but they’re fake. They say their main office is in Brighton, which it definitely isn’t. Then they go on about having a call centre in Cardiff - totally made up. Also, they insist they cover my washing machine, cooker, and fridge, but that’s rubbish. They’re pushing me to cough up £479 for a three-year maintenance plan - no way am I falling for that. And of course, they want my bank details straight away. Complete scam, watch out!

Got a call from a friendly sounding woman with a nice accent, saying she was from Domestic Appliance Insurance and that my policy needed renewing. I asked her which appliances were actually covered since I’d just upgraded all my kitchen gadgets recently. Strangely, she didn’t have a clue! Before she could finish her spiel about the engineers having the details, I ended the call. Felt pretty dodgy to me!

Got a call from a bloke speaking with a European accent, chatting about guarantees on electrical stuff. I told him straight up I'd already had loads of calls from his dodgy mates and let him know exactly what I thought. Honestly, Ofcom and TPS don’t seem to do a thing about these scammers.
