My phone showed a call from 'Traders Tavern' Cardiff, but the bloke on the other end had an Indian accent and claimed he was from Three mobile. Definitely a scam.

Got a call tonight but my True Call blocker picked it up and said “Unrecognized number / Whisper / Hung up while screening“. Pretty glad it stopped that one.

Got a call from someone claiming to be Domestic and General insurance, telling me I was eligible for a no-claims discount. They quickly got really pushy, asking for my bank info. I ended up just hanging up on them.

I never caught his name, and the bloke definitely didn’t have an English accent. He was insisting my appliance warranty needed renewing, even though it’s been fine for 3 years and the stuff is actually older than that. I called him out for being a scammer and promptly ended the call. He kept ringing back a few times but I just ignored him. Total rubbish. Don’t hand over your banking info to these muppets. They’re not legit at all.

Got a recorded call from an 02*** number trying to sell me appliance insurance. Seems like the exact same message is going around on loads of these numbers. Total scam.

I keep getting calls from some bloke called Johnny Gupta and his mates, trying to scam us about domestic insurance. They’re not just ringing, they’re also making their way over in little boats from across the Channel. I used to chuckle when my dad moaned that “This place is going downhill”, but after 40 years, he’s spot on. They really don’t share our values at all.

I'm getting calls loads of times a week from different numbers trying to push me appliance insurance. I just hang up straight away without saying a word. It's proper annoying and I'm sick of it. Does anyone know if there's a way to block these calls for good? The one I got today was from 02920958723.

I just got a call from some automated voice talking about home appliance insurance or something like that. It was one of those recorded messages trying to sell cover for stuff like fridges and washing machines. Annoying as I wasn't interested and didn't even answer properly. Seems like just another telemarketing scam.

Got some calls about my home appliance insurance again, but it’s just an annoying recorded message. I tried blocking the numbers, but they keep switching the last 3 digits so it doesn’t work. Total scammers, just hang up and block straight away!

I received a call from this number today, purporting to be from a household appliance firm, insisting that my coverage was due for renewal. When asked for last year’s payment, I admitted I couldn’t recall. She then proceeded to ‘check’ and informed me it was £299 but that I could snag a deal for £500 for a three-year plan. Next thing I knew, she was asking for my bank sort code to secure the deal. The truth is, I haven’t taken out any appliance cover and I definitely didn’t fork out £299 last year. These unscrupulous individuals are clearly trying to fleece you. Stay vigilant! They also attempted to reach me another five times while I was out this afternoon.

I got a call about some domestic appliances but she couldn’t even say the brand properly. When I asked more questions, she said the line was rubbish. She also mentioned insurance but I don’t have any for those things. Then she claimed I had bought them straight from the maker? She didn’t seem to know much and ended up all confused.

Got a call from someone saying they were Domestic and General, trying to give me a discount on my insurance because I hadn’t claimed anything in a year for three of my appliances. Felt a bit off when the price they gave was actually higher than what I’m paying now. Ended the call and looked up the number - turns out it’s a scam.

This number has been ringing me quite a bit over the past few weeks. I normally don’t pick up, but sometimes they leave a message saying they’ll try again the next day. If it was something important, you’d think they’d actually explain why they’re calling instead of just saying that. I generally ignore calls from numbers I don’t know anyway.

Received a call today purporting to be from D&G, and they seemed to know both my address and phone number. They mentioned that since I hadn’t made any claims in the past year, I was eligible for a discount. They then transferred me to what was supposedly another department. In the end, they were offering a three-year policy for over £500 as a one-time payment. When I mentioned I typically don’t pay for cover like that, they were keen to know what I usually paid so they could tout the savings. I told them they ought to have that information on hand. After some more convoluted chatter, they insisted that only a three-year payment option was available now - whatever that means!

Received a call from this number, claiming to be regarding my home appliances insurance renewal. They wanted me to confirm whether all my appliances were functioning properly. I cheekily replied that since he seemed to know more about my appliances than I did, I saw no reason to engage further. I simply decided to return to my sunbathing instead. Definitely sounds dodgy-take heed!

Got a call earlier from someone saying they were from Domestic Insurance, and oddly enough they already knew my phone number and address. They mentioned that since I hadn’t made any claims in the past year, I was due a discount. Then they put me through to another 'department'. The end result was an offer of three years coverage for just over £500 in one go. The bloke even asked how much I was paying now so he could "show me the savings" - seemed fishy to me!

I received a call from someone claiming to represent Domestic Appliance Insurance. They insisted that they had me down as having four insured appliances and mentioned a direct debit I supposedly set up (which I haven’t). They offered me a deal for a one-time payment of £588 to renew my cover for three years, plus the option to include an additional appliance. I was quite open-minded and indicated that I might consider it - but then I was transferred to another chap to handle the 'paperwork.' I requested that he send the information through email so I could review it properly. Everything seemed alright until he asked for my bank sort code. I pointed out that since I supposedly paid them monthly, they should already possess that info. He argued that it was a standard procedure, but I countered that it wasn't customary for me to divulge bank details over the phone. That's when he abruptly ended the conversation! 😄

Got a ring from this number earlier today. They claimed I qualified for some kind of discount and even named the appliances supposedly covered. Feels dodgy to me, so I didn’t share any of my details.

Some bloke called me claiming I was due a discount since I hadn’t used my home appliance insurance in the past year. I told him straight up I don’t even have insurance with them.
