Got a call from a guy with a strong Asian accent who said his name was Thomas Williams and he was from Virgin Media. He told me my internet had been hacked but the moment I started asking questions, he just hung up. What’s worse is he rang my landline, which I’ve got registered with the TPS. Pretty obvious they’re trying to mess about with my internet connection!

I received a rather dismissive call from a man with a foreign accent claiming to be representing Amazon concerning an order of mine. The problem is, I'm not expecting any deliveries from them at the moment. When I inquired about the specifics of this so-called order, he bizarrely turned the tables and asked me to inform him of any order I'd made. Naturally, I pushed back, questioning him on how he could suggest I had an order if he didn’t even know my name. He tossed out some line about all my details being 'in his computer system,’ yet conveniently couldn’t share any of that information with me! I further queried why he was asking about 'any' order when he had originally mentioned a specific one. As you'd expect, he cut the conversation short and hung up. I suspected a scam right away, as these calls usually come through as pre-recorded messages rather than genuine human interaction. It does make one wonder: why is Amazon not doing more to put a stop to these fraudulent calls misusing their name?

I've noticed several folks inquiring about Amazon orders that I never placed myself. I want to make it clear that I do not shop with Amazon, and I've communicated this to them, yet they persist in claiming there's an issue with my Amazon account. It's quite astonishing since I don't even possess one! Additionally, their grasp of the English language is quite poor, making everything seem even more dubious. It’s all rather dodgy, if you ask me!

Got a call from this number early in the morning, around 7am, with someone saying they were from Virgin Media saying there was an issue with my internet speed. I asked them to confirm the password I had registered with Virgin, but they got really nasty and shouted at me, saying Virgin never does passwords. I tried explaining they definitely do, but all I got was more abuse before they just hung up.

I just got a ring from someone claiming to be from Amazon, sounded like a lady with a strong Asian accent, and there was loads of noise like a busy call centre in the background. She told me I'd supposedly ordered an iPhone 7 and asked if I wanted to cancel it. I told her my number's private and registered with the TPS, then there was silence for a sec. She then said, "But the order was made on your end." I shot back, I don’t think so because firstly, I ain’t got an Amazon account, and secondly, why on earth would I buy a phone that’s basically ancient now? She just hung up after that!
