This morning at about 9.46am on 02/02/2018, I got a call from a guy named Sean who had a strong Asian accent. He said he was from BT and that there was some issue with our broadband. We've had similar calls previously, but the number was always different. I just ended the call straight away. Honestly, I think these calls are pretty suspicious and potentially risky.

Getting calls from these muppets is annoying enough, but 7:15 in the bloody morning?! I’m a vicar, so early calls always make me anxious, especially since it was meant to be my day off today. So frustrating!

This number has rung me a couple of times today, and I ran a quick check on it. Thankfully, my BT call blocker on my phone caught it - definitely seems like a scam to me. Especially with my slow satellite internet, don’t need these annoyances!

Like others have mentioned before, it's a scam pretending to be BT warning about some problem with internet security. They asked if we'd recently changed any settings or shared info, then said some stranger’s connected to our network. If we didn’t fix it, they claimed they'd get into our main server (as if BT’s security was really that rubbish??) and might even disconnect our internet. I just told them cheers for the heads up, said I'd check it out, then ended the call.

Got a call from someone claiming to be from BT, asking to get access to our computer. When I told them it sounded like a scam, the bloke got really rude and started calling us names. He hung up, but then called straight back. I said I’d report them to the police, and he hung up again, only to ring back and carry on shouting abuse. In the end, I just left the phone on the table while he kept ranting, then went about my business.

Got a call from some bloke claiming to be from BT Openreach. I asked him why an engineer didn't bother showing up for three separate slots meant to fix my son's internet. That seemed to throw him off, and then he tried saying he was based at 81 Newgate. I've been to the BT offices there for meetings and told him that’s just the admin side, no tech teams. Next thing I know, he hangs up. Well, that was that, no fun after that.

A woman I’m acquainted with received a rather peculiar call from this number earlier today. The caller wanted to discuss her internet connection and router. Upon her revealing that she neither possessed a router nor had any internet service, the chap on the other end unexpectedly retorted with a rather rude "go to hell." Quite the politeness, I must say!

I received a rather dubious call from this number, with someone purporting to be from BT. They claimed they wanted to chat about my internet security. After providing that information, the caller surprisingly asked how I was doing. I couldn’t resist replying that I was engaged in conversation with a fraudster, to which he responded with some rather colourful language before abruptly ending the call.

This is totally a scam, just like others have said. I got a call from a man with an Asian accent telling me my internet wasn’t safe. He wanted me to link up to a device and read out the IP address. I rang BT afterwards and they told me straight up it’s a fraud. Stay careful and never share your personal details!

Just like a few others here, some guy called me saying my internet was hacked and my data was at risk. He went on about BT servers controlling everything, even though we don’t use BT at all. I asked him to send something by mail or give me a proper contact number instead. When I called him out on it being a scam, he got defensive and accused me of being rude! Got a call yesterday but missed it, then they tried again today claiming to be from BT and warning about the internet. My elderly in-laws were on the line and asked them to ring back. At about 9.15 this morning, I got a call from a man named "Paul" with an obvious foreign accent. He said he was ringing from BT and claimed there were issues with my computer. I responded that I’m not a BT customer and that I’d get in touch with my actual provider myself, then ended the call. Afterwards, I rang my service provider who confirmed it was a scam and warned me never to share personal info with strangers, nor reveal which company I use, as these scammers might pretend to be from that provider and call again.

Got a call from someone saying they were with BT tech support about my internet. I asked him if he ever gets a good night's sleep. He said the call wasn’t about his sleeping habits. somebody with a strong foreign accent rang up pretending to be from bt internet. i don’t even have bt but i played along for a bit. he claimed my internet was slow and vulnerable to hackers. when i asked why he couldn’t just fix it from his side, he said he needed more details and some sort of id number. i told him straight up it sounded like a scam. he got all defensive and then i told him (1) i don’t use bt at all and (2) i don’t even have internet. after that, he just hung up. pretty clear scam to me. i’ve blocked the number now.
