Got a call this morning around 8.45 from someone saying my BT broadband would be cancelled if I didn’t press 2. Definitely a scam, so don’t press anything!

Just got a call at 11:05 from a woman with a robot voice saying my BT internet was about to be disconnected. They asked me to press 1 for tech support or 2 to cancel the service. Obviously a scam, but it’d really freak out anyone who isn’t clued up on these dodgy calls.

Just got a call from a blocked number claiming to be "BT" - classic scam. You’d think BT would step in and shut these numbers down, especially since they’re pretending to be them. But nah, probably BT’s happy to sit back and take the cash while folks like us get hassled. Any chance of action from BT? Don’t hold your breath, I doubt this stubborn lot will do anything about it!

This number just rang me as well. Did anyone actually press 1 or 2 when they got the call? Or maybe called the number back? Feels like it could be a scam if you do either. Bit anxious about the person whose internet got cut off and BT aren’t admitting any fault? Also, I can’t help but wonder if it’s just chance that I’d had a few calls earlier from John Lewis, my mum’s phone company??

Got this annoying recorded call from a woman with an American accent telling me that if I didn’t press some number, my internet would be cut off tonight. Didn’t bother pressing anything, just waited until it ended with that beep and then blocked the number. It’s happened a few times this week already, but thankfully my internet’s still working fine!

About ten minutes ago, I got a call from this number. There was a recorded American woman saying my internet service would be cut off starting today, supposedly from BT. But since I’m not with BT, I just hung up straightaway. Sounds like a scam to me!!!

I told them to buzz off straight away before they could even get going. It’s always the same with these idiots - they clam up if I pick up, but as soon as my missus answers, they launch into some pointless sales pitch.

Cheers for sharing all these posts, they’re really useful. In our experience, the best way to get rid of these annoying calls is just to leave them unanswered. They usually hang up after a while.

About an hour back, I got a call from a female robot voice claiming our internet would be cut off today. Funny thing is, I got the exact same call about a month ago and didn't pay it any mind. But then, right at 4pm that day, our internet actually went down! Luckily, Norton sorted things out for me. I called B T and they said everything's fine with their systems. Guess I'll have to wait till tonight and see what happens. The number was 02675 384219.

I picked up and nobody said anything before they just ended the call. After seeing what others have said, it’s obvious this is one of those spam calls. I’ve gotten calls like this from other numbers before, and I don’t even have any connection with BT at all.

I hit 1 like it said, then this bloke answered who was really hard to get. He kept asking about how many devices we had online and wanted us to link up to one of them to show us something, but he never said why or what’d happen if we got cut off. So, I just ended the call.

Just a heads up to anyone doing this sort of thing - trying to scam people with lies is actually a crime. They should be warned their number will get tracked and the cops will be ringing before long. Hopefully that puts a stop to it.

Got a call like this too, but my internet isn’t with BT at all. Just hung up straight away. Tried to find out how to report it on BT’s site but it was no help whatsoever. Feels like those automated choices on the call are a bit risky, hope no one actually falls for it.
