I received a nuisance call that seemed intent on trying to infiltrate my computer.

Beware of these Microsoft scams. They’ll infect your PC with malware and then try to charge you loads to fix the problem. Totally dodgy!

I received a call from this number claiming to assist with computer issues, but I have my suspicions that they could be scammers rather than genuine support. Can anyone shed some light on this?

Got a quiet call early on a Saturday morning around 8. This isn’t the first time it’s happened either.

Like others have mentioned, I got a call from someone claiming there was an issue with my Windows PC. I didn’t stick around to listen to the full spiel, but a quick search online made it pretty obvious what kind of scam this is.

@ bloke with an indian accent, i just said hello at first. after a pause i tried again saying hello. he answered with hello ma'am. my number’s ex directory and not really used often, so i guessed it wasn’t meant for me. i said, "i think you've got the wrong number." he then asked, "what wrong number, ma'am?" to me, that felt like the start of something dodgy - he didn’t know me and had no good reason to ring. so i just replied, "yeah, figured as much, bye!" as a woman, it made me feel a bit uneasy!

Got a call from someone saying my work laptop had a virus risk. I told them my cousin is with Microsoft and that I'd get them to ring her instead. They weren’t happy at all, told me to buzz off and just ended the call.

I didn't recognise the number on my phone, so I opted to let it go to voicemail. However, the caller didn't bother to leave a message.

I get calls nearly every day, about three times, with someone claiming they're from Windows saying there's a problem with my computer. They warn me that my machine will crash if I don't sort it out quickly.

Got two calls from someone claiming to be Microsoft today. The first one showed up with a number, so I blocked it straight away. Then they tried again but this time no number showed on the screen. I had to turn on call guardian for international numbers to try and stop it. It’s really frustrating we can’t just put a full stop to these annoying calls!

some bloke called himself alex from the windows support team, saying my pc was at risk from some malware or other. he wanted me to switch on my computer. then he asked if I could spot the ctrl key, followed by which key was beside it. i told him there were two keys next to it and they looked quite nice. he then asked if I honestly thought he was daft! what was i meant to say? i don’t even use windows.

Today I've had three calls from this number. I didn’t pick up any of them and they just let it ring until it went to voicemail, but there wasn’t any message afterwards.

Got a call from this number earlier today, but I didn't pick up and let it go to voicemail since it was unknown to me. They didn’t even leave a message.

So, I got calls from people claiming to be from some Microsoft support centre. They told me to switch my computer on, but the weird part is, I don’t even have a PC, never mind one with Microsoft installed. They kept ringing me like 3 or 4 times every single day, which was proper annoying. Definitely don’t trust them - they’re not who they say they are.
