Got a call from a woman, sounded like she had quite a strong (maybe Indian?) accent, saying my internet was acting up. Being retired from IT, I usually try to keep these scam calls going so they don’t bother anyone else. I stalled her for ages. Eventually, she wanted me to install Anydesk - which took me a few tries to pretend to do. After a fair bit of time messing around, I told her it still wasn’t working. She obviously didn’t take it well and told me to go f### myself. Lovely lot, honestly!

I just got a call from this number, and it seemed totally dodgy. The person on the other end was asking if my internet got hacked and if I use online banking. They said their name was Emma Wilson, but honestly, they sounded Indian, which didn’t add up. I told them nothing and if they ring me again, I’m definitely reporting it to the police. Watch out, it’s probably a scam.

I got a call from someone with an Indian accent who said his name was John. Right away, he launched into a story about unauthorised access on my account and asked me to open a command prompt and type some commands. Since I used to work in banking and IT management, I played along for a bit. But when I requested he verify my account info for security reasons, he refused and said it was his decision not to. Needless to say, I never actually typed any of the commands he wanted me to.

My landline buzzed and when I picked up and said hello, there was just silence on the other end. I tried saying hello a couple more times but nothing, just quiet. I hung up then checked my caller ID through 1471 to get the number. This isn't the first time I've had calls like this from similar numbers.
