A lady rang me claiming to be from Telstra in Sydney. I kept the conversation going and pretended to be a student from Sri Lanka attending university here. Who really knows what's going on!

i got a call from an asian guy named sean who said he worked for bt. he told me to switch on my pc and give him some info. i said i’d call bt direct instead, but he kept saying he was real. then i asked him for the account holder’s name and he gave me a wrong one. so i just hung up.

I just always use 1471, never pick up. These calls are so bloody annoying. Why do the authorities never sort them out? Drives me nuts honestly!

A bloke rang me claiming to be from BT, saying there was an issue with my broadband. I wasn’t very polite back, to be honest.

I've been getting these annoying calls non stop, even though I've got BT CallGuard on. None of the idiots will tell you who they are or where they're from, so the phone doesn't even ring properly. Still, these pesky creatures just keep coming back!

Got a call from a guy who said his name was George and claimed there was an issue with my internet. He wanted me to switch my computer on so he could provide my broadband ID. I told him I'd ring BT myself and thanked him for the heads-up. Definitely a con job. Totally dodgy!

my go to is just not picking up if i dont know the number! ive had enough of those annoying calls, so i usually do a 1471 to check who it is before i bother answering.

After a bit, a woman with an Asian accent picked up and claimed to be from BT. I told her she was wrong since I'm with TalkTalk, then hung up. I've been getting calls like this quite often recently and just block the numbers straight away. You can always hear what sounds like a busy call centre in the background - feels like it could be a looped recording designed to make the scam seem more legit.

Got a phone call from some bloke with a heavy accent and really bad English saying he was from BT and that there was an issue with my account. I told him straight up he was fibbing since we don’t even have BT. Pretty sure he was African and a total scammer. Watch out, folks!
