Got a call from 02492736461 earlier, and the guy was saying that my internet would be cut off for like 15 days if I didn't let him do something on my laptop. Said if I didn’t agree, folks might be able to access all my files. Seems dodgy to me!

I recently received a rather concerning phone call from this number. The individual on the line informed me that my internet service would be interrupted for a fortnight unless I followed his instructions regarding my computer. He went on to warn me that failing to do so could leave my files vulnerable to prying eyes. Quite alarming, to say the least!

Got a call from a bloke with an Asian accent saying he was from BT, warning me my internet would be cut off for seven days. I told him I don’t even have BT as my provider. He kept pushing a bit but I just said I wasn’t interested and hung up. These calls seem to be happening more and more, same kind of number popping up all the time.

Had this woman on the phone who was obviously trying to scam me. I played the fool for a bit and she got annoyed, saying I was just messing about. She ended the call after about five minutes, couldn’t keep at it at all! I remember once dragging one of these scam calls out for over an hour. Phishers nowadays just don’t have the stamina they used to.

Got a call from someone saying they were with BT, said my internet was hacked or something. I asked for my BT account number to prove it, but they couldn’t give it. Then I told them I don’t even have a PC, and they just told me to f##k off for wasting their time, haha. Guess they don’t appreciate it when you wind them up! :)

I received an unsolicited call yesterday from the number 02492736461. The individuals on the line claimed to represent the National Cyber Crime Agency. They informed me that my home computer had come under attack, allegedly originating from somewhere in Bangkok, Indonesia (which is, of course, incorrect as that’s in Thailand)! They attempted to direct me to a dodgy website. I managed to keep them engaged on my mobile for about eight minutes. It was rather amusing because when I mentioned that I used an Apple iMac rather than a Windows PC, they promptly ended the call! Both men I conversed with had noticeable Asian accents. Could you please advise me on where I should report this incident?

Got a call from some bloke claiming he was with BT. He wanted me to install this app called TeamViewer and then share all the websites I usually visit with him. Said there were problems on my end or something. When he asked which bank I use, I just ended the call. Fingers crossed I didn’t accidentally give them anything useful to scam me with.

If you can, do consider blocking this number as it’s definitely dodgy. The individuals on the other end are quite aggressive and it's best to avoid any interaction.

Today, I received a rather dubious call from a chap who sounded Indian, claiming to be part of the Windows technical support team and insisting there was an issue with my computer. I informed him that my computer was perfectly fine and requested he erase my number from their records before I promptly terminated the call. To my annoyance, he rang me back instantly, berating me not to disconnect the line, which of course I did anyway. He then proceeded to bombard my phone with about eight more calls. It became so bothersome that I was unable to make any outgoing calls as he was keeping my line occupied. I urge everyone to stay vigilant against these con artists!

A guy said he was from the National Cybercrime Unit, saying my PC was acting up. I asked for his IP address, and he read out a number that could never be an actual external IP. When I mentioned that, he started to spout another rubbish number but then suddenly cut me off. Pretty sure if I’d gone along with it, he’d have tried to trick me into downloading some dodgy software pretending to fix things. My advice? Just end the call straight away.

I received a call from a bloke claiming to be from BT. I informed him I wasn't their customer and promptly ended the call. A minute later, I got a call from a woman using the same number, and I told her to just bugger off and stop bothering me! Yesterday I got called twice by women claiming to be from BT, saying my Internet was being accessed by someone else. It sounded dodgy straight away, so I just hung up. Then today, a bloke rings me, starts off with the same story. Before he could go on, I asked him for his phone number. He snapped back with "Why the hell would you want that, Mother F#####." Pretty clear to me it was a scam.

Pretty much the same as others have said. Got a call from someone claiming to be a BT engineer saying my broadband will be cut off starting Saturday for a whole week. When I questioned it, the bloke got really rude and started swearing. I reported it to BT straight away and they confirmed it was a phishing scam. I've also added that number to my block list using BT Call Protect, which I’d suggest everyone use since it doesn’t cost anything.

Got a call from a woman claiming to be from BT, saying there was an issue with my internet. I figured it was dodgy straight away but decided to humour her. Asked her for my BT customer number and then she passed the phone to some bloke who said he was the chief engineer. When I told him I just use an iPad, he got proper annoyed and told me to "f*** off" before slamming down. Real pleasant geezer!

So this guy rings up saying he’s with some cyber crime unit and that my IP address is apparently being used by someone in Indonesia. He claimed he was working alongside Microsoft and asked if I’d had any contact from them. Then I asked where he was calling from, and he said Indonesia. At that point, I called him out and told him the only person who’s been contacting me about cyber crime is him, and maybe he’s the one running the scam.

Got a call from someone saying they were "David Marshall" at BT, warning that my internet was about to be disconnected due to viruses on my device. My mum’s phone rang and I picked up, the bloke asked if I was there. I mumbled something unsure, and straight away he told me to f. off and f. myself. It's utterly preposterous, this bizarre 'BT' call that sounds distinctly Chinese. One has to wonder why on earth BT hasn’t put a stop to this number already. Is there any truth to it being linked to Coventry, or is it all just a load of rubbish?

This morning, I had a rather curious phone call from a woman with an Asian accent claiming to be representing BT. She mentioned that there were some necessary adjustments to my broadband connection for the sake of internet security. Given that I’d only recently experienced some issues with my phone and broadband, which OpenReach managed to sort out, I assumed this could be a follow-up. However, it quickly became clear that it was something altogether different. I decided to end the conversation.

I received a rather peculiar call at 11:22 this morning, where the individual claimed that my BT service was going to be terminated shortly. I simply told them they were chatting nonsense and promptly ended the call. It's truly concerning that such calls are still allowed, particularly targeting those who are more susceptible, like elderly folks who may struggle to address this kind of nonsense. I’m a pensioner myself, but thankfully, I know how to handle these situations!

A lady phoning from a supposedly BT line called 02492736461 to check my internet. I thought I’d have a bit of fun and asked her what exactly she’d do with my details. She rambled on without making much sense. When I asked for her name, she said "Christina Watson" from BT London. Weirdly, the number shows up as BT Rescue in London, but 024 is actually a Coventry area code. Eventually, I got fed up and ended the call. Later I saw loads of people sharing sketchy stories about this number online. Best to avoid it!

I just had a rather unsettling conversation with a gentleman sporting an Indian accent. He claimed that our phone and broadband services were in jeopardy and would be disconnected in three weeks if we didn’t act immediately. However, he was quite elusive and wouldn't elaborate on the specifics, so I decided it was best to end the call. To be honest, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with our internet or phone, and we’ve got various security measures in place on our devices. Since he didn't present any substantial evidence, I'm inclined to think this is just a dodgy scam. This website has also reassured me that my instincts were spot on!

I received a call from that number earlier today, and silly me, I picked up since I was awaiting a different call. My phone showed this as an international call, so I didn’t pick up since I had already talked to them about 30 mins before. The missed call log showed 02492736461, which is actually a number from Coventry.
