Just had one of those internet security scammers on the line for more than half an hour. Played it like I was a character from that Little Britain sketch, the weird hotel owner who plays the flute. Pretended to be busy "shutting windows" and kept calling my screen a telly and keyboard a typewriter. Bet he thought it was gonna be an easy catch!

Answered the call and all I got was a dial tone right away! Most likely another scam, and honestly, I’m really over all these annoying calls. I blocked 4 numbers just yesterday, and one of them rang me again today - can’t figure out how that’s even possible. Now this new one too! I thought the Government was meant to be cracking down on these, don’t know what their plan is but they surely could trace these from sites like this and check the phone bills. Received a call on the 10th, 12th, and 14th of November, 2019, on my home phone, but nobody answered. No voicemail was left behind either. Then, on the 13th of November, I got an email about my Amazon account, stating that I needed to update my information due to a problem, or my account would face permanent closure. Initially, there was nothing but silence on the line, and then an Indian gentleman introduced himself as Michael from Tech Support, asserting that there was an issue with my computer. I've come across some other remarks where he had mentioned being affiliated with Microsoft as well. I shot back with, "That's not true. This is clearly a scam," before hanging up the call. I promptly added the number to my blocked list, a feature that many of my phone and internet service providers readily allow. On occasions when I’m juggling calls, I can just dial 1572, and it'll redirect the nuisance calls away. Thankfully, even when I needed to handle my phone for other matters, I was still able to use the blocking function. Ever since that incident, I've not received any further unwanted calls from the same numbers.

Got a call off someone saying they were from Microsoft tech support. I could tell straight away it was dodgy, but I played along for about 5 minutes, asking loads of questions to keep them chatting. After a while, they got proper fed up and just hung up. Seriously, don’t let these lot near your computer, but it’s quite amusing to mess about with them and waste their time. Received a call earlier today from someone claiming to be BT's tech support, then suddenly said they were with Microsoft. They told me my wifi had been compromised. About an hour back, I got a call from someone pretending to be with MicroSoft's tech support, talking about issues with my internet. Someone rang me earlier but I didn’t pick up, didn’t recognise the number so I just let it go. Totally with you though - you’d think OpenReach with all its fancy gear would manage something better. As for the government, it’s like trying to move a mountain, no matter who’s in charge - just a bunch of kids playing silly games!

My phone buzzed and I picked up right away. All I got was silence, then the call ended. When I checked 1471, it showed the number, but I wasn’t about to ring them back, obviously.

I received a call earlier today from someone claiming they were regarding my computer. I told him quite bluntly that I didn’t have the time to waste on scammers and suggested he take a hike. I may not have been particularly civil about it! After hanging up, to my surprise, he had the audacity to ring me again, saying I lacked manners. I made it clear that I wouldn't entertain any conversations with scammers and explicitly told him not to bother calling me again.

When I mentioned that I wasn't going to be taken in by his little ploy, he went off on me, calling me a miserable old bat and told me to clear off. Quite cheeky, if you ask me!

I received a rather unsettling phone call from a woman who had a pronounced oriental accent, which made it quite tricky to grasp what she was saying. Fundamentally, her message conveyed that a virus had been identified on my computer, and she insisted I download certain software to address the so-called threat. Upon realising what was happening, I pointed out that she was nothing but a scammer, and that the real danger to my PC was her dubious claims. She promptly hung up. I've taken the necessary steps to report this incident to BT and Action Fraud. Strangely enough, this marks the second such call I’ve received recently.
