For more than a fortnight now, these two numbers - 02476682078 and 02476685245, both from Coventry - have been constantly ringing my home phone. Before these calls, there's often an "Out of Area" call which I guess is to check if my number is actually active. Soon after, one of those Coventry numbers rings again. It’s really getting annoying. I’ve been registered with the TPS for nearly 20 years, yet it doesn’t seem to do much good in blocking these pesky calls. My husband’s now been told not to pick up any calls from 0247 numbers at all!

Got a call around 1:23pm from a woman speaking with an Asian accent. She talked ages but never really explained which light I was supposed to press. After a while, she just ended the call.

Watch out, got a call from some Indian accent, all about PPI and accident claims. They also kept talking about computer viruses and Microsoft Windows stuff. Felt like they tried every trick in the book to fool me. Total scam, be careful!

Some guy called Ryan, he had an Asian accent - why do they always choose English names like that? He said my PC was getting hacked or something. He rambled on for ages, so I told him to say it again because his English was terrible and I couldn't catch half of what he said. Doesn't seem to impress them when you ask for a repeat!

Common rubbish calls linked to the internet have been a real pain. Some woman with an accent called asking to talk to the main person in charge of our computer. I said I’d fetch our IT guy and then she just hung up. These annoying calls need to be stopped once and for all. When my husband was in the coronary unit for a fortnight, I was getting these ring after ring, which was really stressful. Got another call from one of those Coventry area codes scammers seem to be using. The calls aren't actually from Coventry though - it's just dodgy folks overseas trying to nick your info. I reckon the phone companies need to step in somehow since these are legit numbers getting abused. Maybe they're selling them off to shady characters? If that's the case, proper investigations are needed. This kind of thing is happening way too often nowadays - seriously, it's about time it stopped.
