Yep, total scam. Got this call from someone with an Asian accent saying my BT internet would be disconnected in a couple hours. I told her I don’t even use BT. Then she started rattling off a bunch of other internet providers who supposedly use BT’s lines. I told her I’d check with my actual broadband company and just ended the call.

Just a heads up, this is definitely a scam. Took a moment to check out the reviews and it’s clear no one gets warned about their computer being in danger until they fall for it. Always make sure your anti-virus and malware protection is current, better safe than sorry!

I was in the shower when this number popped up, so I had to look it up here first. So glad I did! Absolute scammers, they nearly tricked my mate recently. They claimed to be from BT saying her computer had a virus. Then I watched a video of a guy who got scammed after her, lost a whopping £8k! Luckily, his money was refunded but normally banks don’t cover that stuff. Seriously, watch out everyone. This place is full of rip-offs these days 😤😭

I got a call from someone with an Indian accent, asking if there was an issue with my internet. When I mentioned the error, he said it was just a yellow triangle on my screen. Made me laugh!

I got a call from a guy with an Indian accent claiming to be Ryan Williams from some Tech Support Team. I decided to humour him and said, "Oh really?" He warned me about some issue with my PC and insisted I shouldn't turn it on, check emails, surf the web, or even play games because he’d spotted nasty stuff being downloaded. I responded, "Wow, who would've guessed! Do tell me more." He just said, "Pardon?" So, I continued, "I'm quite eager to hear what the problem is." Then, out of nowhere, he just hung up!

Got a call from some total scammer claiming my computer was hacked or something. Told them to stop calling me and just ended the call. Then they ring back straight away, asking why I shut them down and even said they'd keep ringing and try to get my mobile number too. I hung up on them again, and thankfully, no calls from them since.

I received a message on my computer claiming it was downloading some dodgy software every time I hopped online or checked my emails. Sussed out it was a scam, so I decided to have a bit of fun. I kept the Indian-accented bloke on the line for ages, making sure he couldn’t hassle anyone else while I played along. Eventually, I’d had my fill and just hung up! I've now whacked this number onto my call block list.

Got a ring from a bloke with an Asian accent who said he was from Microsoft tech support, saying there’s an issue with my PC. Felt fishy straight away, so I asked to speak to his manager. He wouldn’t put me through. Then I asked for a phone number I could call to verify he was genuine - he wouldn’t give me that either. I told him he was some kind of scammer and should quit bothering people and find a real job. And then he just hung up on me!

Got a call from someone claiming to be a Microsoft tech, saying there was an issue with my work PC. I jokingly gave him my team viewer ID and password, and he said it was some sort of self check done by the user. Then I sarcastically asked if he wanted our company card info, which didn’t seem to go down well. He kept going on about Microsoft being told our system was slow because of a missed update. I told him we have an internal IT team handling that and asked him politely to take our number off his list before hanging up. Pretty obvious it was a scam.

Got a call from an unknown number at 11.24am on 10 August but it ended before I managed to pick up (checked via 1471). I had a gut feeling it was dodgy, which others’ comments have just proven right. I’ve had a bunch of these calls before, usually coming from an 024 prefix and around the half past hour. When I’ve actually answered in the past, they claimed to be from BT, warning me my internet was about to stop. That’s definitely not something BT ever does.

On 10th August 2019, at about half ten in the morning, this number popped up on my caller ID. I answered and said hello, but nobody said a word back. I then used 1471 to check whose number it was and called it back, but no one picked up.

An Indian gentleman introduced himself as a representative from Microsoft and claimed that my computer was riddled with error messages. I was taken aback and informed him that I had no idea who he was. He continued to press me on whether I was indeed the owner of the computer and urged me to open it so he could guide me through some fixes that purportedly would show up on my screen. However, when I attempted to follow his instructions, my computer refused to cooperate, prompting instinctive red flags to go up in my mind. I promptly called my daughter, who was en route to my house, and she advised me to hang up immediately. He persisted in calling back, so I told him to ring me in about 15 minutes, claiming I would have someone here for assistance.
