Got a call from a guy named Walter with an African accent, saying he worked for BT Openreach about my old mum’s phone bill. I asked him to confirm who her provider actually was, and he said Virgin. Then he started on about her bill going up and said we should move to his company. Honestly, these scammers need to quit it! So annoying!

Got a call from someone saying they were “Switch and Save” claiming my line rental was dropping. Thing is, I’m on a fixed price deal with TalkTalk already. Sounds like yet another lot of scammers from Asia faking UK numbers. Total waste of time.

The call started with a long silence, then an Asian-sounding person got on asking if they could talk to whoever pays the phone bill, claiming it would help cut costs. The number they rang is listed on the TPS, and they seemed to have no clue about the company they were ringing.

Got a call in the afternoon, picked up and all I got was silence from the other end. I’ve made sure ages ago that I’m off any telemarketing lists, yet these nuisance calls keep coming through. BT really doesn’t seem to care since these muppets are apparently their clients. If you do end up talking to them, don’t be shy to give back as much rudeness as you can. Take care!

I’ve had to put an end to those annoying calls by making them say who they are and then hit the hash button. Using BT CALL GUARDIAN after that has meant they get blocked straight away.

For the past few weeks, this number keeps ringing on my home phone. I picked up twice while still waking up and there was just complete silence, no one talking back when I said hello. They never bother to leave a voicemail either. The calls come at all sorts of random times on different days. Honestly, seems like some kind of scam to me. Having caller ID is really useful to spot these calls, I’d recommend ignoring any calls from numbers you don’t know.

Weird thing just happened! I was testing my internet speed online, and right after that, this number called me. I let it go to voicemail but no one left a message. So I looked it up on here and saw someone mentioned it was about switching broadband providers. How do they even know about what I’m doing? Feels like they might have some of my account info. I got a call from what sounded like a call centre, you could hear loads of chatter in the background. The bloke on the line had a really thick Asian accent and wanted to speak with someone in charge of telecoms. When I told him to take my number off their list, he actually asked me why! Judging by the accent and that odd question, I reckon it's one of those call centres overseas pretending to be a UK number. I wouldn't trust them as far as I can throw 'em. This is a work number, and from what I've seen in other comments, it looks like the number is being spoofed in a random way.
