Someone rang me saying they were from BT Openreach, but that instantly raised suspicion since they're actually two different firms. They claimed it was a one-time chance to fix slow wi-fi problems. Got a phone call from someone claiming to be Openreach, saying they were checking out a slow internet problem. The person had an Indian accent and told me that a hacker had taken over my router. They asked me to log into my bank account, so I just hung up straight away. Later, I used 1471 to find the number and looked it up online. I gave them a bank account with loads of overdraft so there was nothing to nick anyway. If you get calls like this, just hang up, get the phone number with 1471, then do a quick search on it.
