Got a call earlier today from someone with a really thick Indian accent, and honestly, I could hardly make out what they were saying. The first red flag was when they used my old single name, which I changed over 15 years ago when I got married. They were claiming I might qualify for a no-cost energy heat loss check for my home. I kept asking who they were, but all they did was keep repeating the same thing. I eventually told them I suspected it was a scam and just hung up. It worries me that someone more vulnerable might fall for this. That’s why I’m giving it a danger warning.

They sounded way too knowledgable, calling me by my name and even my address - I’m guessing they pulled that from the electoral register. They insisted they weren’t trying to sell me anything, just wanted to see if I qualified for a home energy check. Once I mentioned I didn’t own the place, they just ended the call.

About 20 minutes after getting a call from a Cardiff number saying they were from Currys PC World trying to sell me phone deals, this Portsmouth number popped up. I didn’t pick up. When I asked some questions on the first call, they got pretty defensive and then just hung up. Seems like it’s probably just a scam.

Got a call from a man with an Indian accent who said his name was John, but honestly I couldn’t make out much of what he was saying. When I asked which company he was representing, there was a weird pause and then he went quiet. I ended up just hanging up. After having a look at other people’s comments, it seems it might have been about insulation or something similar. Seemed a bit dodgy to me. I’m a bit hard of hearing anyway, so calls like that with strong accents are always a challenge to follow.
