Finally, the UK Government needs to get a grip and deal with these scammers properly. Sometimes I wonder if these fraudsters have some kind of influence over the Government or the companies like BT that handle our phone lines? It's just ridiculous!

Got a call from 02394008575 about half past nine in the morning. Feeling rotten with this nasty flu and barely managed to get to the phone in time, but as I picked it up they'd already ended the call. Looked up the number afterwards and saw loads of people complaining about it too. These scammers are really getting on my nerves. It's about time the government stepped in and put an end to all these rubbish calls.

I just ignored the call. With caller ID, I usually don’t bother answering unless I recognise the number. If it’s important, the caller will leave a voicemail, but these types never do. Honestly, this has all the signs of a scam, and BT should really block these numbers. But they probably won’t, since they’re likely getting a cut from it somehow.

Got a call from 02394008575, bloke sounded like he was foreign and said he was from some company called 'solar'. Wanted to check if I actually owned my house or if I was renting it out. Thing is, my number’s ex-directory so I don’t see how they managed to link my name and address to it. I asked where they got that info from, but he just ignored me and went on about helping homeowners save on energy bills. Kept pressing him for an answer and he just said they’d ring again tomorrow. As soon as the call ended, I blocked the number straight away.

Apparently, this wasn't a sales pitch (as per various conversations), but rather a call coming from a firm in the Philippines representing a British company that provides loft insulation services. The caller, who spoke quickly and was clearly not a native, managed to communicate in reasonable English but seemed quite evasive when I probed further with my inquiries. When I pressed for additional details, she abruptly ended the call, which was rather suspicious.
