Got a call from a lovely lady who told me there was some unpaid tax I didn’t know about. She was super friendly and said she could sort it out for me if I just gave a little info like my bank details, where I live and my mum’s maiden name. Funny thing is, her mum’s maiden name was the same as mine! We had a good chuckle about that. Honestly, I’m really thankful she rang me, such a kind soul.

I received a rather dubious call purporting to be in line with some government initiative to provide complimentary home maintenance services. The line was dreadful, and the voice on the other end had a distinct foreign lilt. I mentioned that I wasn't living in a council or housing association property, to which she cheerily replied, "No worries, we can sort everything out for you at no cost!" It all sounded highly questionable, so I refrained from sharing any personal information when she pressed for it. When I suggested they could send me the details via email, she stubbornly insisted that they needed my address first. At that point, I decided it was best to terminate the call.

I kindly asked them to stop the nonsense, only to be met with a barrage of personal insults in return. Some woman with an Asian accent phoned askin' for whoever handles our energy deals. I told her we run a serviced office, but she just wouldn't get it, kept going over the same lines. Eventually, I had to raise my voice and make it clear again that we’re a serviced office, then she just dropped the call. Pretty sure it was a scam.
