Got a call from some automated voice claiming to be an HMRC officer, said his name was Officer Michael Coleman.

The message was pretty intimidating, telling me that if I didn’t ring back right away, I was going to be taken to court. They said all calls are recorded and here’s what the message said:

This is a message for YOU. This is HM Revenue & Customs calling to tell you there’s a serious claim against your name.
This matter is urgent, and the moment you hear this, you must call back at this number: 023 9216 2029, that’s 023 9216 2029.

If I don’t hear from you, YOU will face severe legal trouble.
To avoid legal problems, call me immediately.

Got a message from some automated voice saying it was hmrc, telling me to ring this number right away. Sounded pretty threatening, but then it ended with “have a blessed day,” which was a bit of a giveaway it was a scam like I’d read about before.

Around 7:50, I got a call from +44 23 9216 2029. It was some weird automated voice telling me to get in touch with them ASAP, saying they were from HM Revenue and Customs. They warned if I don’t call back, I’ll face tough legal actions. The voice said this was my final warning to sort out this ‘serious matter’. The caller claimed to be Officer Mike Kolinson from HMRC. Then they just ended with a “Goodbye and have a blessed day.” Bit dodgy if you ask me.

I couldn’t answer the call at first because of my disability, so I called back after hearing they’d left a voicemail asking me to ring them urgently.
