Got a call from someone named Maya claiming to be with O2. She said there was some technical issue and my sim would be blocked soon, but not to stress because they'd post me a new one. She also promised my new plan would be 30% cheaper. Honestly, it sounded like a total con - she was sticking to a script word for word. I couldn’t help but laugh at how fake it all sounded.

Got a call from someone claiming to be O2, sounded like they had a strong Asian accent and their English wasn’t great. When I asked for proof it wasn’t a scam, they quickly hung up. Happened here in Southampton. Definitely suspicious!

Got a call claiming to be from o2, but the lady calling from India called herself "Mary" and barely spoke any English. She said they were sending me a new SIM card for no clear reason, then immediately asked for my bank info. Just hang up straight away, it’s definitely a scam.

Beware, these calls come from 02 and Virgin numbers and they're definitely trying to scam you. Best to just not answer or engage with them in any way.

I received a call from this number, and a woman with an accent that was rather hard to understand asked for me by name, claiming to be from O2. She mentioned something regarding my contract, but when I requested her to clarify, she bluntly asked, “Are you even with O2?” At that point, I decided to hang up. Could it have been a legitimate inquiry? It’s all quite baffling, to be honest.

Got a call from a lady who had a really thick accent, could barely catch what she was saying. She claimed she was ringing from o2, but I kept asking her to say it again and again. When she finally asked if I was with o2 or not, I said I was hanging up. Definitely a scam.

I got calls from this number about 4 times all within an hour and honestly, I couldn’t make out a word they were saying. Ended up just blocking them.

Had an email pop up saying money was going to be taken from my bank, telling me to call a certain number to stop it. No phone call or anything, just that email out the blue.

Got a couple of emails from this lot, one claiming I'd renewed a Norton security plan for £699, and then another warning they’d take the money from my bank within six hours. I’ve changed my bank details and checked with them - they can’t find any payment. Looks like a total scam to me, especially since the invoice had no name or bank info. Be careful out there; my bank's put a watch on my account to block anything dodgy. Seriously, who’d cough up £699 for a McAfee package? The bank said anything like that would instantly set off alarms.

I got an email saying £699 was charged on my card from McAfee or something like that. Thought I’d been scammed so I went straight to my bank, but they said nothing like that had been taken out. Honestly, felt like a total con!

Just got an email saying that £699 has been taken from my account, exactly like the one mentioned earlier.

I got this dodgy email supposedly from McAfee saying I owe £699 and that they’ll take it from my bank in the next 12 hours unless I call 0 238 097 0837 to stop a 5 year subscription renewal. The message looked like an invoice with a number and said it was overdue from 8th December 2023. It was signed by some Rhonda Collier and gave a Nashville address. Total scam in my opinion. If you get anything like this, don’t call or click anything, it’s just a sneaky way to scare you into handing over cash.

Got an email full of the usual nonsense today. Something just didn’t feel right, so I looked up the number and ended up here. Honestly, can’t believe folks still take the bait, but I guess some do.

SCAM ALERT Got a call from someone claiming they’ll withdraw £698 from my bank. Honestly, it felt so dodgy - the police need to step in here. I also got an email from [email protected], which had a bogus invoice attached, and they included a phone number at the bottom. They said they were from Norton, but I’ve never heard of any company like that. Seems like a complete con to me!
