Just like others have said about this number, I got a call from an Indian guy claiming he was from BT, saying there was an issue with my internet. I said my internet was perfectly fine, and when he asked how I knew that, I told him I was actually using it right then and gave him a bit of a ribbing about getting a proper job. He wasn’t too happy and ended the call straight away.

No one said a word when I answered, just silence. Weirdest call I’ve had in ages.

Totally a "BT" scammer! Let her keep talking for a bit before I said I don’t even have internet, then she cut off straight away. They never block the caller ID, so why doesn’t BT just shut down these numbers right away? It's a bit rubbish since it messes with their reputation. Loads of folks have been fleeced out of thousands because of calls like this!!

Got a call from someone claiming to be with BT's tech support saying there was a problem with my internet. They asked me to be in front of my computer so they could run some checks. I'd had a similar call before, but this time when I asked for my name, they gave me some random one I didn’t recognise. Then when I asked for my address, all they gave me was a postcode. I pointed out that it’s just a general area and then they suddenly ended the call. Feels like a total scam to me.

I received a ring from this number about my internet speed, claiming they were from Virgin. They wanted me to log into my main gadget so they could test the speed and fix any issues. I was suspicious of the call and as soon as I started asking questions, they just cut off.

Got a call from someone claiming to be from BT, trying to trick me into installing some software so they could get into my computer and nick my personal and bank details. They told me I was still on Dial-up and had to hang up before checking their website. Definitely a scam.

Got a call from a Chinese lady saying it was about my BT broadband. But when I asked her to say it again for the third time, she just ended the call on me. Bit strange if you ask me.

I got a call from someone saying they were from "British Telecom" telling me my internet wasn’t safe. I told them I’m not actually a BT customer and then they said they were calling for Sky or Virgin or something like that. They wanted me to log into my computer, but I just ended the call straight away.

Got a call from 02365898421, said they were from India. They claimed my internet had issues and asked me to download some software to sort it out. Total scam, I just hung up straight away.

Got a call from someone saying they were from BT about my internet but it seemed fishy so I just ended the call.

This morning I got a call from someone saying they were with BT and wanted to talk about my internet. Thing is, I don’t have any services with BT so I just ended the call straight away. There was loads of noise in the background, so I reckon it was either a busy household or maybe some dodgy call centre.

Received a call without any sound. I've gone ahead and notified the Information Commissioner's Office.

Got a dodgy call from someone in India pretending to be from BT. Definitely reported it to the ICO.

I got a call from someone saying they were with BT Openreach, saying there was an issue with my internet. I just told them to sod off and ended the call straight away.

This one’s definitely a bogus number. I haven’t seen it anywhere else on this site yet. (w3 Nick: BANDIT)

I got a call from a bloke saying he was with the “BT Tech Team” and that there was a problem with my internet. He wanted me to let him install some software on my computer. I asked him for my account number to check if he was legit, but he just made up a random number. I ended the call straight away. When I tried ringing the number back, it said something like “The number you’ve dialled isn’t recognised”! Definitely a scam.
