I received a rather dodgy call from someone saying they were about to disconnect my BT Openreach internet service in a day because of some suspicious behaviour. What a load of nonsense! For the record, I don’t even have BT!

Got a ring from a guy with an Asian accent claiming to be from BT. Totally fishy, so put him straight on the block.

Got a call from a bloke with an Asian accent claiming to be from BT. He said my computer had been sending out signals recently and that my security might have been breached. I've had a few scams like this before, so I played along for a bit. Eventually, he hung up when he realised I wasn't falling for it. Total scammers!

Got a call from someone claiming to be with BT Internet, saying there was an issue with my connection. I kept them on the line for about 30 minutes, just messing about until I lost interest.

Got a call from a man who sounded Asian and said his name was David Williams. He quickly passed me to someone called Hazel Smith, who claimed to be his supervisor. They didn't ask me any security questions at all and told me to stay by my computer, but I wasn't having any of it. Asked them for a contact number, and they gave me a bogus one. I ended the call, then found the correct number online along with their website. Be careful and don’t share your info with them!

Got a call from a guy with an Asian accent who said his name was Ryan Willamson, which made me raise an eyebrow straight away. He claimed to be from BT Internet, telling me my connection had been patchy for a few weeks. I told him it sounded like a scam, but he insisted it wasn’t. Still felt dodgy, so I ended the call and blocked the number. Honestly, why doesn’t BT do more to stop these calls from happening? It can’t be great for their image.

This isn't the first occasion these fraudsters have called me. It was an Asian guy claiming he worked for BT saying there was an issue with my internet. I told him there wasn’t any problem, explained I was in a meeting, and asked him to send me details in writing before hanging up. I then used 1471 to get their number and contacted BT who confirmed it wasn’t them. They called once more today (wonder if I’m on some scammer’s target list). Same Asian man, same story, so I just said “can't hear you” and ended the call. Why doesn’t BT do something to stop this?

I get about a couple of calls every day, usually spaced by an hour, and they come from different numbers each time. This particular call claimed to be from BT, saying they needed to fix my hacked router. I pretended to go along with it for a while. It felt like a fresh trick since the person kept checking with a coworker and then passed me to someone who sounded like a senior tech. I eventually told them straight up that "my computer says no, it’s a scam" and they ended up hanging up on me.

Today someone rang our office claiming to be Mac Parker from BT. He had an Asian accent and warned that our internet would be disconnected soon because it’s been hacked or something like that. Then he told us to get in touch with BT straight away and gave us this number: 0203 2861784. We didn’t bother calling back since it smells like one of those dodgy lines that will rip you off with huge charges. Definitely a scam!

Just today I got the same message as lots of others before me. Its clear these folk only wanna make cash off other ppl, no matter the cost. They must have nothing valuable or any sense of right and wrong, cause they don’t seem to mind causing hurt or even worse. They’re just out for themselves, no care for anyone else.

Got a ring from this number a moment ago. Like some others mentioned, the lady on the phone had an Asian accent. She claimed to be from BT and told me my internet was about to be cut off for three months. When I asked the reason, she said it was because neighbours nearby had been using my connection! I told her that’s not possible since the network’s secured, then she just ended the call. Definitely a scam, watch out.

I've had like twelve calls this week from people saying they're from BT. Honestly, just ignore them and don't bother picking up, especially during your lunch break. It's a total waste of time.

Got a call claiming to be from BT's internet team talking about problems on my server. They asked me to be at my computer and give them my info. BEWARE! We're not customers of BT, so this has scam written all over it. Don't fall for it, they just want to rip you off.

this asian woman called claiming she was from BT, saying there was some issue with my line caused by my computer. i told her "yeah right, you're just trying to scam me, now bugger off." and then she just ended the call.

some bloke with an indian accent rang me claiming to be from bt, said he needed to fix my internet and wanted to get into my pc right away. i told him i was tied up and asked him to just email me the details so i could sort it out later. he just ended the call. looks like a proper con to nick your info.

Got a call from someone with an Asian accent claiming to be from BT. They insisted everyone in the UK uses BT even if they say otherwise! They said I had issues with my internet and router and told me to open my computer. I asked for BT’s head office number and address to check, but they threw out a dodgy 0203 number and a garbled address. When I called them out on trying to take over my PC and rip me off, calling them a liar, they just cut the call! Not shocking at all!

got a call from this number a moment ago, could hear loads of background noise like a call centre. the guy spoke with an asian accent and said he was from bt, telling me my router was sending out some kinda warning? signals and that my connection would be cut off soon. i questioned him a bit and then he just ended the call. watch out for this one!

Got a call from a bloke speaking what sounded like his native language - maybe Indian? But he wasn’t talking to me at all, just chatting to someone else before hanging up. I’d say block the number straight away or at least let your mates know about it.

Today I got a call from a lady at some call centre claiming to be from BT. She began by saying she'd tried calling us but got cut off. I ended up ringing BT's nuisance calls helpline, and after that, BT call protect confirmed no one from their side had reached out to us today. It all sounded like one of those scams BT warned me about just a few days ago.
