Got a call from 02190453342, sounded like an Indian guy claiming to be from BT Openreach. He said there was an issue with my router. Didn’t really have the chance to chat long since it was just past 8 in the morning and I was getting ready to leave for work. Just a heads up to watch out for calls like this.

Got a call from 02190 784590, the person claimed to be from BT saying there was a problem with our internet and they'd cut our phone line within two hours. Normally it’s a bloke with an Indian accent, but this time it was a woman with the same accent. Pretty sure it’s a scam. I didn’t hang about to find out what they wanted exactly, couldn’t be bothered going along with the whole thing.

Some woman with an Indian accent rang me claiming to be from BT, saying my internet was at risk and she could help sort the issue. She wanted to know if I had a computer or laptop and if it was switched on. I said I’d need a few minutes to power it up, and she said no problem, she’d wait. When it finally booted, she told me to press certain keys so she could ‘assist’ with fixing the problem. Then a message popped up on my screen and she asked what it said. I told her it basically said to tell the scammer to jog on and then I just hung up.

Got a call from someone pretending to be BT, I told them straight away it was a scam before ending the call. They try to spot if you’re easy to fool, and if they don’t get that vibe, they just cut off. This is the fourth time in three days I’ve had this nonsense.

Got a call from some bloke called John Wilson, sounded like he was from India, and he said BT had spotted other people using my internet! Absolute nonsense if you ask me. I just said I didn’t believe him and hung up straight away!

For the past three mornings, between 9 and 10, I've been getting calls with a noticeable lag before anyone even speaks. It’s always some so-called BT tech or engineer, with the caller speaking in broken English and sounding like they're from India. I've decided to block the number now, but it's frustrating to think there are folks desperate enough to try and con people instead of earning a living properly.

This number rang me claiming to be from BT saying there was an issue with my connection. They asked what I was using to access the internet and I told them a tablet. Then they insisted I should be using something bigger, like a laptop or even a mainframe. When I said I didn’t have either, they just ended the call. It’s clear it was a con since I don’t even have net service on this line. BT really ought to crack down on these scammers, especially as they’re now using dodgy UK numbers that look legit.

Loads of calls from supposed BT reps over the last couple of days, clearly a fake number showing up. I played along today and they ended up connecting me to some “higher level” tech team. I pretended to be clueless, they wanted me to install Teamviewer and give them the partner ID. When I finally had it, I told them not to bother wasting my time, and they started swearing at me. It felt brilliant messing with them like that - hopefully it saves someone else from falling for it. Honestly, everyone should try to waste their time too.

I can't believe these calls are still coming through! I just got one from a guy with an Indian accent, and it was so frustrating I couldn't access my phone straight away. It's worrying because I bet there are some poor folks out there who might fall for it and end up getting scammed.

Got a call from the same number today, and I think it was the same person because the voice sounded just alike. There was loads of noise in the background too. When I told them I’m not with BT and asked why they were ringing, they just replied, “Alright, have a good day” and hung up. Proper annoying call if you ask me.

Agree with what's been said, got a call saying it was BT offering help with supposed 'hackers' on our internet. My missus took the call, and this bloke with a strong Indian accent said his name was Steven McClean. She tried chatting to him in Hindi but he claimed he didn't know it, even though you could hear people speaking Hindi in the background. Total con artists, honestly. We just played along to waste their time so they wouldn't be able to trick anyone else. He ended the call as soon as she mentioned we use an Apple computer.

Just like loads of folks have said, I got a call from someone mumbling about BT, not making much sense. If I’m not busy, I drag it out, ask them to say it again real slow and clear, and get them to spell stuff out ‘cause there’s a ton of noise behind them and it’s hard to catch anything. More times than not, they’re the ones who end up hanging up first.

Got a call from some muppet at 02190784590, think it might be an India call centre. He claimed to be from BT, saying there was an issue with my broadband - absolute rubbish since my internet’s been working fine, better than usual even. Got a ring from this number earlier, the person said they were from BT and there was some issue with my internet. I played along for a little while then I reckon he got bored of me messing about, as he just ended the call. These kind of calls usually want to trick you into letting them into your computer, so don't be fooled. I’ve put the number on my BT Call Protect block list. Hopefully that’s the last of them!

He kept shouting horrible names at me for 'wasting his time', even though I told him that he was the one who’d rang me first. Never picked up and no voicemail either. This is the fifth time in just three days that I've got a call from a strange number showing up as 'international'. Looking at the reviews for this and similar numbers - like 01095678943, 02348904378, and 00987654012 - I'm convinced it’s just a scammer messing about.
