8 yearsI picked up the call, but decided to remain silent. They soon ended the call.8 yearsI got woken up at about 2 in the morning because my phone kept ringing. When I finally picked it up, there was silence on the other end which really freaked me out since it’s such a late hour and I worried something bad might've happened to someone in my family. My phone shows a caller ID so this morning I tried ringing back, but all I got was a recorded message saying "the number you have called isn’t recognised". I don’t get how that’s even possible?8 yearsGot a call earlier, some bloke claiming to be from the 'Microsoft Tech Support'. Instead of just listening, I put the phone right next to my smoke detector and set it off. The noise blasted through the line - hope that taught them a lesson! Honestly, I reckon more people should do this whenever they get these kind of calls.Microsoft Technical Team8 yearsWhen they inquired whether I had been receiving any pesky calls, you can bet my response was quite revealing!8 yearsOnce more, I've had a ring from this dodgy scammer. This makes the sixth time I've had to put up with their awful, brainless tries to blag something from me, and honestly, it’s never gonna fly. The last occasion, I told them exactly what I thought of their gear, which was on 4th June. Each time they ring, it’s just that same silent hang-up routine. Should I ever get to actually talk to the person, I hope they've got insurance for hearing loss, because I won't hold back letting them have it.Spoiler8 yearsI answered the call, but there was complete silence on the other end.8 yearsThis number called me but no one said anything when I answered. Really strange, just silence.8 yearsAnswered the call but there was silence on the other end before it just suddenly cut off.8 yearsI got a call today around 3.05pm on June 6th, and all the person did was keep saying a first name over and over. I had no clue what they were after, so I just ended the call.8 yearsGot a call from a woman with a foreign accent claiming to be from BT, telling me our internet had been compromised. I played dumb and said we weren’t actually with BT. She then rattled off loads of other internet companies, saying BT worked with them all and our connection had been targeted by some overseas hacker, warning it was serious and that’s why our internet was lagging. I kept acting clueless and eventually she just hung up on me. They’ve called a few more times using different numbers, but they all start with 0215, which doesn’t seem to be a UK code.BTUK8 yearsGot a call about some issue with the local BT exchange, then they started asking about the number of lights showing on my router. Ended the call sharpish!8 yearsNo one said a word when I picked up.8 yearsI've gotten those silent hang up calls again, like the one on 26/05/18 and a few times earlier. If you look at what I said before on this site for that date, you’ll see my thoughts - I really don't want to keep saying the same stuff over and over. Got better things to do! Honestly, I think these calls are pretty DANGEROUS!!!8 yearsMy Windows suddenly started acting up, bit of a nightmare really. Couldn't figure out what was wrong at first, thought it might be a hardware issue. Ended up being some fault with the system itself. Proper frustrating!8 yearsWhen I picked up, all I got was silence, then some sort of robot woman says "goodbye". Kinda creepy if you ask me.8 yearsGot a call about my internet, sounded dodgy so I just hung up straight away. Definitely felt like a scam, not answering those again!8 yearsGot a call from someone pretending to be BT, saying there was a scam on my IP. They wanted me to log into my computer. I could hear a noisy call centre in the background. The person sounded clueless about tech stuff and when I asked for the IP address, they gave me a totally wrong one. I tried to keep them on the line to waste their time but eventually asked for a callback number - of course, they wouldn’t give me one. Pretty obvious they were fishing for my bank login info.BT8 yearsGot two calls back to back on 24/05/18, but my answering machine only saves the most recent one if I haven’t cleared it, so I probably missed the earlier message, if there was one. Unless they leave a voicemail with details, I can only call back the last number I see after wiping my call history. I always flag silent calls as suspicious - usually there’s something dodgy about them anyway. Hopefully whoever’s responsible stumbles across this page and understands what we think of their tactics!8 yearsJust got one of those dodgy calls pretending to be from BT, total rubbish.BT8 yearsGot a call from someone claiming to be with BT, saying my internet wasn’t safe and wanting to know what gadgets I had online. When I asked them to prove they were actually from BT, they just threatened to cut my internet off. I told them to do their worst and then hung up.BT8 yearsThis site couldn’t really pin down the origin of this number, just labelled it as “Landlines (geographic)”. The person on the other end was just another scammer, calling me then staying silent before suddenly hanging up. Absolutely useless and pretty irritating. For some folks, these kind of calls aren’t just annoying - they can actually be quite upsetting to get!!!!!!!8 yearsThere was just silence at first, then suddenly an automated voice thanked me and cut off. I've gone ahead and blocked that number now.Submit Your Own Report (021 5896 3258)
