Today, I received a rather shocking phone call from a woman claiming to be with HMRC. It was absolutely infuriating as she had the nerve to threaten me with imprisonment and made baseless accusations regarding illegal activities I'm definitely not involved in! It’s astonishing how low some scammers will stoop; surely they could channel their energy into something more constructive!

Honestly, the only real way to deal with these annoying calls is the method announced on 9 July. I’m curious how many people actually took the time to follow it? Just hanging up or blocking isn’t gonna protect you properly - these scams mainly target those who are more vulnerable. Keep alert, everyone!

Got a call from someone claiming to be HMRC, a woman sounded really serious saying if I didn’t give her my info, she’d get the police involved. The number she called from was 02157985417. Felt pretty dodgy to me.

Then they started claiming there’s a legal case against me for some income tax issue and warned me that if I didn’t give them my details, the cops would arrive within the hour to arrest me. Pretty intimidating but sounded dodgy to me.

I asked if they could verify my national insurance number first coz I thought it was dodgy. Then the lady, who had an Asian accent, just hung up on me. Total scam, watch out! HMRC don't ever ring you, they always send letters to your home if there's an issue.

We usually only pick up when we recognise the caller, thanks to our caller ID. This number popped up on the screen this morning around 9.30 am, but they didn't bother to leave a message. After seeing the comments here, it’s clear this is one of those scams trying to squeeze money out of people. It’s worrying because these scammers can really trick older folks or those less careful into falling for it. They’re a real threat to vulnerable people.
