CPS Call Prevention Services claims to be "government approved." After I complained, they said they'd remove my number from their list. We had a lengthy chat where they wanted me to verify stuff like my address and postcode. When they asked my first name, I told them a fake one. Then they asked for my debit card expiry date, and that's when I stopped cooperating and ended the call. They’d called me before on Feb 11, 15, and 23.

Got a call from someone with an Asian accent who claimed he was calling from central London. He asked if I’ve been getting loads of marketing calls lately. When I said "you mean like this one?", he just repeated the exact same thing again, word for word. Total scammer - definitely reading from a script!

They said they were from some 'Call Blocker Service' to help with all the annoying calls I've been getting. I wasn't having any of it, and then the bloke just called me a 'numpty' and hung up. Still chuckling about it now.

I’ve picked up this number a few times and ended the call quickly twice. The third time I let it ring out just to hear what they said, which ended up being a goodbye message. I’m really curious how they got my landline details since it’s a new number that hardly anyone knows about.

This number has rung me loads of times, always with that same story about being from the government or something official. The other night, my husband handed me the phone thinking it was about nuisance calls. I loudly told them, “You lot are the nuisance!” and they cut off before I even got to listen. I’ve reported them to the Telephone Preference Service and plan to keep at it. It’s got me thinking how many of those ‘International’ or ‘Withheld’ calls are probably these scammers pretending, using numbers that look proper to trick us.

I don’t get why phone companies haven’t blocked this number already if it’s often used by scammers. Last night around 8.16pm I got a call from it but no one picked up. Also, once I got a call from a scammer, sounded like a polite English woman, trying to sell me a service to block spam calls. Strange stuff!

Just got a call at about half past six this evening from a woman with an Asian accent. She claimed to be ringing on behalf of a government supported group working with the Telephone Preference Service to register my number and block nuisance calls. She already had my phone number and address, then passed me to her "Manager" so I could confirm the registration. After some more questions, he asked me to verify the credit card I use to pay my phone bill, including the expiry date. I told him I wasn’t comfortable discussing my card details, but he said he only wanted confirmation of what he supposedly already knew. When I refused again to talk about how I pay my bill, he just hung up on me. Definitely a scam - watch out for this!

This morning I got a call from this number. The person on the line had an Indian accent and claimed they were from a fraud protection service. When I told him he sounded like a scammer, he started swearing at me and ended with telling me to go eat sh**. Totally unprofessional and rude!

I’m proper gutted with myself, nearly fell for this dodgy call from some bloke called JACK claiming he was with TPS, said he could block all the scam calls about this government pension thing for old folks in Perticula. He made it sound legit, but as soon as he started asking for my card info, I got suspicious. I ended up telling him the expiry date but when he wanted the full card number, I just hung up.

She told me I could sign up my phone number to block nuisance calls. When I asked her how I could verify her identity given all the scams going about nowadays, she just went quiet. I ended the call straight away, but what freaked me out was she already had my full name. Proper creepy!

02111252104 I’m thinking this number might be on some sort of autodialer, cos when you pick up, no one talks back. Sounds like they’re making money every time someone answers, considering it rings about 10 times a day. So basically, they’re raking in 10 times the call charges without lifting a finger. If you try calling it, you just get a busy tone. Would be brilliant if someone who knows their stuff could track down the company behind it and give ‘em a taste of their own medicine by bombarding them with automated calls too.

He began reading something off his screen, but I told him I wasn’t happy with the call and would look into the number myself. I hung up before he could say anything back - it definitely seemed dodgy. Just got a call from a William Smith claiming he was from TPS making updates to the service. Felt a bit off when he asked for security details. He kept pushing and called again. Got quite annoyed when I refused to give my card number. Ended the call but said I could ring him back on 0800 083 9345. Looked it up and it matched the number he gave.
