A person with an Indian accent called my elderly mother, who is 70 years old, and informed her that her insurance for the sky equipment had expired. He then requested her to renew it. However, she promptly informed him that she had just renewed her insurance and therefore assured of coverage. In response, he abruptly hung up the phone. I strongly advise everyone not to provide any personal information, particularly bank or card details, over the phone to avoid falling victim to this scam.

someone rang me saying they were from sky offering a warranty for my sky hd box, said it would cost £90 which seemed a bit much. they were really insistent and wouldnt give me any details, so i just hung up. checked with sky myself and was told they only work with one company and its actually £65.00. just a heads up in case others get caught out, especially if they’re more trusting. i think the caller said their name was edigital or something like that.
