For years now, I've been getting calls from this guy with a strange accent who insists on speaking to my sister - who, tragically, passed away nearly seven years ago. Every time, I tell him she's no longer here and beg him to stop ringing as it’s really upsetting. Just this afternoon (16/02/17), he phoned again asking for Carol. I demanded to know why he kept calling her, but then he just cut me off. They’ve also called once looking for my uncle, who died a year before my sister. Honestly, it’s making me feel uneasy, like maybe they’re using the names of dead relatives for some dodgy schemes.

26/1/17 at 09:12, I didnt even get to pick up. The number showed up though. Im on the Do Not Call list or some GPS register or something but I still get loads of unwanted calls. Now its even worse cos I get calls from withheld numbers too, which is annoying as my mother-in-law, who’s quite elderly, used to be the only one who called me like that. So I always thought it was her ringing. Feels like I might have to ditch all my phones soon coz even my mobile is getting these strange calls now.

I got a call from a guy who spoke with an Indian accent. He claimed he was from some sort of customer survey team and said it’d only take a minute. When he asked me to verify my phone number and address, I told him I don’t share personal info on the phone. Suddenly, he started calling me an idiot and said he didn’t understand why he even tried with people like me. I told him to stop calling, but then he warned me he’d keep ringing anyway. Really unpleasant experience.

Got a ring at around 4.20 pm today from some number. The person on the other end had an accent I couldn't quite place, so I wasn’t clear on which company they were from. I got a call from some so called consumer group, and they just started swearing and being really horrible. They even began threatening all kinds of things. Some bloke named Harry rang up asking if I had a minute to chat. I told him straight away I don't entertain cold calls from strangers. Still, he kept pushing even after I made it clear I wasn’t interested. Had to raise my voice at him, but it didn’t do any good, so I just ended the call. Not five seconds later, he was back on the line! So I left the phone off the hook and got on with my lunch!

This number rang me, and it was a woman with an Indian accent claiming to be from Convenience Today. I told her I wasn’t interested and asked her to remove me from their list. Then she replied, “I’ll call you every day.” I was a bit taken aback and asked, “Excuse me?” She repeated it like a kid, saying, “I’ll call you every day, I’ll call you every day.” It was so ridiculous I just laughed, hung up, and blocked her straight away.

I picked up the call and was immediately questioned about whether my name and postcode were right. Then the person asked me to hold on for just a moment but wouldn’t say why. I asked what was going on, but they just kept telling me to be patient. At that point, one of my grandchildren needed me, so I told the caller I had to go, but they kept talking anyway. Eventually, I just ended the call - my grandchild’s priorities come first. I don’t bother with these survey things.

Got a phone call from a guy with an Indian accent who said his name was Sean. He wanted me to take part in some lifestyle survey. When I tried to find out which company he worked for, he kept dodging the question. Then he went on asking for my property address and whether I was working, not working, or retired. I asked again about the company, but he just told me to hang on for a minute and give him some time. I got suspicious and hung up, thinking he might try to get my bank info or card details next. Felt really dodgy to me.

I'm so fed up with these annoying calls, seriously, they need to be blocked for good and whoever is selling our numbers should be stopped. I usually just hang up before they even say a word. BT really needs to sort this out properly. As an elderly person, I can't just ignore my phone because I get important calls from doctors and nurses. I tried asking a couple of times if it was about anything specific or what company he was with, but he just wouldn’t say. I told him not to ring again. He said “Alright, no worries.” Guess we’ll find out if he means it!

I got a call from a man with an Indian accent, and when I said I was registered with the TPS and didn’t want any unwanted calls, he just started calling me names and told me to get lost! It’s really not on to be treated that way in your own house. The company sounded like it had "convenience" in its name or something like that.
