Got a call from a foreign guy, maybe from Asia, on 5/5/18 claiming there was an issue with my BT internet. I told him to stop messing about and just ended the call. Definitely sounds like a phishing attempt.

Got a call from a woman with an Asian accent claiming there was a problem with my internet and loads of people were messing with it. I told her my broadband was fine and that I wasn’t even a BT customer. She then went on about how BT looks after all internet lines and asked me to get on my computer. I just told her again everything was fine and ended the call.

I just got a call from a woman with an Indian accent claiming my BT broadband had some kind of problem. She insisted I wasn’t actually a BT customer and called me a liar when I told her otherwise. Eventually, she must’ve lost the argument because she ended up hanging up on me!

I got a call a moment ago. I answered with a simple hello, but all I got was silence for a while. Then, out of nowhere, a woman with that typical call centre tone just said goodbye. Honestly, I kinda wish I’d told them to bugger off instead.

Got a call from a woman with an Indian accent saying she was from BT and that my internet had some issues. I asked for a callback number to verify, but she just ended the call. I've already flagged it to Action Fraud, and I'd suggest everyone does the same - https://www.actionfraud.police.uk/report_phishing. It’s really worrying because lots of older or vulnerable folks end up getting caught out by these scams, so it’s vital to keep Action Fraud in the loop so they can take these fraudsters off the streets.

Got a call from a really polite sounding Asian woman saying she was with BT Broadband. There was this awkward quiet gap before the call actually went through. She asked me to get on my computer, but I just laughed and told her to take a hike!

I had a rather peculiar phone call earlier, with a chap claiming to be from BT. He mentioned something about my internet being at risk from foreign hackers, and that they were just verifying the situation. When I told him I couldn't chat at the moment, he promptly hung up on me. Quite baffling, to say the least!

Got a call from a woman claiming to be from BT, even though we use Virgin. She said there was an issue with our account, the typical spiel. My husband responded with a bit of sarcasm, acting all surprised, and she just hung up straight away. There must be some way to use the phone number to block or take action against these calls. We've reported a few, but it doesn't seem like anyone's keen to follow through properly.

Some bloke from India called saying my pc was getting hacked. I just let him wait for a while then he hung up. He rang me like five times after that, so I answered and told him I knew he wasn’t really from BT. Then he went on about cutting off my phone and internet and even called me an idiot! Needless to say, I’ve blocked the number now.

Got a call from a guy who claimed he was from BT, saying my internet wasn’t safe. He had an Asian accent, but what threw me off was that he didn’t even know my name - surely BT would have that info? I kept quiet, and then he just hung up on me. Pretty clear this was a scam.
