I received a rather dubious phone call today from someone who purported to be affiliated with Microsoft. This individual, whose command of English left much to be desired, asserted they were from the Microsoft Technical Department. They went on to say they had detected a breach in my computer's security and wanted to assist me remotely. The whole affair had the unmistakable vibe of a call centre operation-definitely not the way I imagined a reputable tech company would reach out!
