Got a call from 02088886439 today around 2:30pm saying they were from Sky. I played along for a bit but when they started talking about downloading software, I told them I reckoned they were a scammer and didn’t wanna continue. Then they called me a couple of rude names and told me to get lost. I told them that just showed they weren't really from Sky, and they hung up straight away.

Got a call from someone sounding Asian who claimed to be with BT. Said I was a loyal customer and qualified for a free call package. Then he started asking for my full name and date of birth to “verify” my account. Definitely trying to fish for personal info since they already know my number and probably my name. Seems like a scam to steal my identity and commit fraud. Best thing is to just ignore and end the call right away.

About 5 days ago, a caller claiming to be from BT Security rang me about my broadband speeds and claimed someone was accessing my account without permission. They sounded really legit and I naively shared more details than I should. Luckily, my bank's fraud team acted quickly. The scammer rang again the following day like they said they would. I hung up straight away when I spotted it was an 02088 number. Pretty sure they’re not going to be sending that new router they also promised!

02088889775 rang and wanted to talk to Mrs ******* (my manager’s wife). I asked what the call was regarding. He asked who I was. I said I work here. He just said, “pass me to Mrs *******.” I asked, “Are you trying to check her computer or something?” He said, “You just work there, so pass me on.” I told him no. Then he called me an a**hole and hung up. Honestly, that really brightened my day!

I got a call from 02###8###, a private number that doesn't appear in any phone book. When I called back to find out who it was, a woman with an Asian accent answered and started making up some story about a call from that number. But the moment I told her the number had shown up on my caller ID, her accent vanished and she denied calling me earlier today, then just hung up. 02088639517 A guy called claiming he was with the Telephone Preference Service, saying they were launching a new call blocking scheme. He mentioned we'd been getting scam calls from places like Amazon, BT, Microsoft and so on. He confirmed our landline and address, then asked for my date of birth. I didn’t feel comfortable sharing any more details, so I asked for his ID and where he was calling from. He said he was ringing from Ruislip in London, and I told him that’s not where TPS is based, then ended the call. I’ve reported it to TPS and stressed how important it is they take action.

02088 - Some scammers pretending to be from my internet company called me, trying to freak me out about supposed issues with my connection and saying my computer had viruses. They asked me to open certain system files. While still on the call, I searched the command they told me to run (eventvwr) and quickly realised it was a common scam. I ended the call. They rang back later, but hung up when I told them to look it up themselves. Still, they keep phoning every day, just from different numbers.

Got a call today from an asian guy claiming he was from BT, saying there was an issue with my internet speed.
