Received a call from someone who could barely pronounce my name, which always raises a red flag for me. They claimed to be from an appliance insurance company and asked me to verify the address where my appliance is situated-lo and behold, they named my correct address. I verified it, and then they mentioned I had been overcharged to the tune of £###:### and needed to process a refund. They then requested my card details to proceed. At that moment, I was hesitant, given my past encounters with scam calls, so I refused to share such sensitive information. They insisted, “But madam, we can’t issue the refund unless you provide us with that information.” To which I replied, “Oh, but you can! You already have my name and address; just send the refund via cheque, and I’ll pop it into my bank.” After that, it was quite amusing when the line abruptly went dead-guess the “charming” lady wasn’t very keen on her job after all! Got a call from 020 8066 0218, the person had a really heavy foreign accent and said they were from O2. I told them I'd already asked O2 to stop calling me, so either they weren’t listening or it’s some kind of scam. They hung up after that.

Whenever I get calls from numbers I dont recognise, I usually tell them they’re now speaking with the local law enforcement office. Most times they hang up straight away. Got one just this morning from 02086752773. Hopefully this little tip helps someone out there!

Got a couple of calls from some bloke saying he was with BT. He told me my IP address was compromised and that I needed to change it to keep it private. According to him, if I didn’t sort it out, my internet would be cut off within 19 hours. I told him it sounded dodgy and that I wouldn't do anything without checking with someone knowledgeable first. He said he’d give me another call in about an hour.

Received a call from 02086 ### just now. The voicemail instructed me to leave a message after the beep, but the person on the other end decided to hang up instead. I’ve been attempting to reach out to HP support - it's utterly frustrating, and I might have to send my printer back.
