Been getting calls marked as 'International' seven times over the last couple of days. The last call I answered was from someone saying they had issues with their computer. This number has called me repeatedly claiming to be from 146 Banbury Rd, Oxford, London - sounds like two locations, one in Oxford and another in London. They also gave me a toll-free number, 0800 310 1045, but when I dialled it, it just went to a modem or fax tone. So, if you think it’s legit, try calling them back on that 0800 number - at least they’ll be footing the bill for the call!

Picked up once and a lady with an Asian accent said she worked for some computer repair company. I just ended the call straight away. Since then, they ring me about 3 or 4 times daily but I never pick up. Similar to what others mentioned, my landline’s just for broadband and it’s listed as ex-directory.

Lately, they’ve been ringing me non stop. One time I picked up and they claimed my computer was infected with viruses. When they kept saying “vindows” I just replied “there’s a window right here and all’s fine” and then ended the call. Proper scumbags. Honestly, I’d love to know where they live, but I’m guessing they prefer it that way!

Today at about 3:31 pm my elderly neighbour got a call that really shook her up. Some man with an Asian accent told her she hadn't registered her computer properly. Even though she's on the TPS list, it clearly didn't stop this call. Luckily, she didn't share any personal details with him. Quite disturbing, honestly.

I told them I was from PC Experts over in Newgate St SW15. When I asked why Newgate St had a Putney postcode, they got a bit defensive. I had a hunch they weren’t local - probably from somewhere in South Asia - so I asked where they were calling from. They started up with the typical chat about malware and stuff. When I brought up the postcode again, they said I was just wasting their time. Sharp of them, huh? For me, it’s only a win if they end up swearing!

Got a call from them earlier today. Even though I’m on the TPS, they still keep ringing. Honestly, it feels like being on the list doesn’t help much. Would be great if BT or OFCOM could just create an easy way to report these annoying calls and then block the numbers if enough people complain about them.

On Saturday 21st May about 9:30 in the morning, I got a call from an Asian gentleman who claimed to be from Computer Administration saying there was an issue with my computer. I told him straight away that all calls to my phone are recorded as evidence for potential legal action, then he just ended the call abruptly.

A chap with an accent that sounded Asian rang me today, claiming he was from BT and warned me that my internet would be down for a few days because someone was apparently misusing my connection. When I pressed him for proof by asking for my address, he flatly refused, stating he couldn't provide any personal information over the phone. So this bloke called me, and I told him my computer seemed alright. He goes on about how that’s the first hint of some malware issue and only they can spot it. Then some woman took over, claiming she was a tech supervisor ready to assist. She asked to get into my computer, but I just ended the call. Had a rather unpleasant experience with a caller who sounded Asian and was quite pushy about me having a BT connection. He kept going on about some ID number for the computer that was supposedly affected, but couldn't even tell me which of my six Windows 10 machines it was. I didn’t share any details, as he got most things wrong. He kept asking me to confirm ownership before giving me that ID, but I just found the whole thing a bit sad. At one point, he mentioned I was paying for the call, so I challenged him to see who’d hang up first. After about ten minutes of back and forth, he finally admitted it was a waste of time and disconnected. Bit of a stressful and weird call overall.

This is the same con as the one from 020766464 claiming there's something wrong with your computer. I managed to block the first number, but after they called me about seven times, they switched to this new one. When I told them I was going to report them to the police, they backed off. Got a call saying there’s a serious virus on my PC and they need me to log on so they can fix it. I told them it’s a scam and told them to buzz off and quit ringing me. Got a call from some people claiming to be from PC Expert in Oxford, said they wanted to fix my computer because it supposedly had spyware or malware. Said it was all free but I had to do exactly what they told me. They gave me a number, 0800 310 1264, but when I checked the actual incoming call, it was from 0208 777 5555. BT told me that number looked fake. After googling it, found out it’s linked to an old recruitment agency in Ilford. While I was still on the call, I looked up the company and quickly saw it’s a known scam, and they’re using loads of different numbers. It made me feel really sorry for anyone who falls into this trap, because I’m pretty sure they’re actually planting viruses or maybe hijacking the computer and then demanding cash to unlock it. Such a nasty scam!
