The number was unfamiliar to me, but it turns out ILA is a genuine Iranian charity I actually back. Still, I'm not a fan of receiving calls out of the blue!

I received a call at about 7:43 pm on 14th January 2021 from someone who spoke for around five minutes. He talked in a convincing way about his life and experiences in Iran, which sounded quite believable. However, as expected, he eventually asked me for a donation, no matter how little it was. I chose to say no, though I guess some might give in. Whether it was a scam or legitimate, I'm not entirely sure this time.
