I didn’t get a call but an email pretending to be from eBay - total spam!

I got an email out of the blue telling me my Apple Watch Ultra 2 was being shipped to me - which I never bought, just so you know. The message had some random delivery address and said if I didn’t order it, I should ring their fraud prevention team right away. The phone number they gave? Total trap. If someone calls it, the scammers start their trick, probably trying to get your bank details to “sort out a refund” - obvious nonsense. Do not trust these fake eBay emails, they’re just after your cash!

I've been coming across this phone number in dodgy emails related to eBay scams. Quite concerning, really.

I got something like that too. It was an email claiming to be from eBay saying I’d made an order for stuff worth £535.47, and they included this phone number in the message.

Fantastic news! Your order has been processed and dispatched! I received an email prompting me to contact customer services since they noticed I hadn't placed an order for the phone. Truth be told, I didn’t make any such order!

I just received an email from eBay claiming to thank me for purchasing an Apple Watch. The thing is, I'm completely in the dark about this supposed transaction!

Once again, I’ve received an email notification regarding the purchase of a smart watch, but I can assure you, I haven't placed any such order.

I’d be really keen to have someone give them a ring and find out what steps they take to sort out the situation with the watch delivery, or any other pricey item for that matter. I assume they'd want to verify credit card info or something similar, wouldn’t you?

Received a phone number linked to a dodgy eBay email. It's definitely not above board!

I’ve just had the same experience as many others-a dodgy email popped into my inbox, purporting to thank me for ordering a Huawei smartwatch, complete with the ominous note that if I hadn’t made this purchase, I should ring their customer service on 020 8638 8060. It’s easy to see how this could send someone into a tailspin, considering the watch is priced at a hefty £588.99 plus a £20 handling fee! Naturally, the instinct is to pick up the phone and call, which could lead to a rather sinister situation where the person on the other end might slyly attempt to extract sensitive banking information from the unsuspecting caller. It seems to me that this is a pretty crafty scam-stay alert, everyone!

I’m in the same boat. I’ve got a smartwatch, but I don't even have an eBay profile!

I received an email that purported to be from eBay, confirming an order, but it had my address completely wrong. It includes a phone number to call if there are any issues.
