Got a call from someone named "Pam Lopez" claiming to be with the "Global Economic Forum" and said she wanted to ask about the UK's economic situation. When I asked where she was calling from, she said Singapore. Then she started asking if I was working or ran a business. I questioned why she was using a London phone number if she was abroad, and how she could expect trust when she was blocking her real number and ignoring the UK’s Telephone Preference Service rules. She ended the call right after that. Not sure what they were trying to achieve, but it smelled like a load of rubbish to me.

I kept getting calls from this number, kept ignoring it cos I had a feeling it was some scam from India - turns out I was spot on after looking it up here. It’s crazy how many dodgy calls come from that place trying to rip people off.

Got a call from a woman saying she was from royal mail, asking for my email regarding a parcel. I gave it to her while we were on the phone, then got an email that definitely wasn’t from royal mail. She tried to keep me talking so I’d pay, but when I questioned her, she couldn’t explain a thing. Seriously, don’t send any money!

I got a call from someone saying they were with Royal Mail, though their accent seemed South Asian, maybe Indian. They said I owed some kind of charge on a parcel I was waiting for because postage hadn’t been covered. I tried a few times nervously to get them to confirm my email address, but despite them saying they'd send me a message, it never arrived. They wanted to ring me again in a few minutes, but to this day, no call back.

Total scam alert. They claimed a parcel was sent to me a few weeks back and I had to pay postage on delivery. That’s not how Royal Mail work - they never ring up to ask for money, instead they post a grey ‘Fee to pay’ card through your door. Be careful and don’t share your email with these lot!

I got a call from a lady who didn't speak much English, saying she was from Royal Mail. She told me there was an unpaid fee for a parcel they had at a depot in London. She even knew my name and phone number. She asked for my email so she could send payment details or said I could pay over the phone to get the package delivered. When I asked for an official unpaid postage notice from Royal Mail, she couldn’t tell me my address. Pretty sure it was a scam.

Someone rang me saying they were from Royal Mail, but wouldn’t tell me my address and insisted my phone number was written on the parcel. They said they’d email me details, but that never came through. Instead, I got a text with a link, which they told me to click. They kept insisting it wasn’t a scam, but when I asked questions, they couldn’t really answer and just hung up once I brought up this site. I was left on the line waiting to find out if I had to pay anything for the parcel.

I received a call from a lady who purporting to be from Royal Mail, insisting I needed to pay some fees for a parcel. Then she asked whether I still wanted to collect it or if I preferred delivery to my home. I decided to call her out on it and requested the postcode once more. To my amusement, she promptly ended the call! 😊

I got a rather dodgy call this morning from a lady whose accent clearly wasn't British. She claimed to be representing Royal Mail, going on about a parcel supposedly sent my way, and insisted it might just be a "Christmas surprise" that I ought to accept. She mentioned it weighed about 0.75kg and would only cost me £1.55 to claim. Pure nonsense! Definitely a scam.

I had a rather dubious phone call from someone claiming to be from Royal Mail, insisting they had been unable to deliver a package to me despite three attempts. They mentioned a fee of £1.55 for re-delivery, and I made it clear I wasn't comfortable with making any payments over the phone. The caller responded that he would send me an email with a link, urging me to check it while he remained on the line. I explained that I couldn't do that whilst talking to him, and he said he would call me back, which indeed he did, but I chose not to answer. Honestly, these sorts of scammers are a real nuisance and something needs to be done about them!

I've had a rather similar phone call to those mentioned previously. A chap with a rather strong foreign accent-could've sworn it was Dutch-told me I owed £1.55 to have a parcel sent to me that was allegedly misaddressed and held up at a Royal Mail depot somewhere in London. He insisted I had to sort it out myself through a link he was planning to email me. Needless to say, I politely passed on his dubious offer!

I had a rather peculiar encounter with a woman claiming to represent Royal Mail. She rang me up regarding a parcel originating from London that apparently had insufficient postage. When I proposed that she simply pop a card through my letterbox, she informed me that this wasn’t an option. I then suggested that returning the package to the sender might be the best course of action for them to remedy the postage issue, but she cautioned that there was a chance my parcel could go missing in the process. I was quite taken aback that Royal Mail would suggest a possibility of losing items in transit! Despite my willingness to take that gamble, she remained rather pushy, so I ultimately decided to end the call.

I've had a remarkably similar experience, I must say! In my situation, I insisted that I would swing by the sorting office to pick up the parcel. The person on the line insisted that I could only collect it on Monday, despite it being Saturday. But lo and behold, just half an hour later, the parcel turned up at my door! To add to the oddity, she had mentioned that I needed to pay online, but when I mentioned this to the postman, he assured me that there were no additional postage fees involved. It all feels rather suspicious to me, as if there’s something a bit dodgy going on behind the scenes.

I had quite the experience recently with a woman sporting a Far Eastern accent who was insistent she was ringing from Royal Mail. Apparently, I owed £1.55 for a parcel that was supposedly being held in London! I endeavoured to keep her on the line while I quickly searched the number online and stumbled upon this website. I probed her as to why the parcel intended for me was stuck in London, considering I reside up North. I also inquired how she had my mobile number, to which she asserted it was written on the parcel! To top it off, I questioned why Royal Mail was opting for this phone method instead of their usual practice of dropping a card through the letterbox (apparently, the staff are too bogged down with work and phone calls are deemed safer during the pandemic!). Just as I was challenging her on these points, she abruptly terminated the call!

Just like many others, I got a call from this same lady, reciting the exact same spiel. Instantly, I sensed something wasn't quite right, given that I’ve never had a call from RM regarding a parcel before! I mentioned that I wasn’t anticipating any delivery, so they might as well send it back to whence it came - ha! I received an intriguing call from a woman with an accent that seemed foreign, claiming to be affiliated with Royal Mail. She was supposedly delivering a parcel that had no postage paid. Initially, she attempted to send me an email, but after a frustrating five minutes of waiting for it to arrive, she blamed a technical glitch and opted to send me a text instead. The message included a link that directed me to a webpage presenting an invoice for £1.55, complete with Royal Mail logos and all the necessary fine print, which seemed rather convincing. She insisted on remaining on the line while I made the payment. However, I told her no chance am I handing over my money, as it felt suspicious, and promptly hung up. A lady phoned me and struggled to get my name right. I thought to myself, a true Brit wouldn’t mangle such a straightforward name, so I instantly clocked it as a scam. She claimed to be from Royal Mail, insisting my parcel was too heavy and lacked sufficient postage for delivery. Received a call from someone claiming there was a discrepancy with postage fees. They asked for just a quid, but I suspect it’s simply a ruse to obtain card details. I received a phone call supposedly from Royal Mail, reportedly based in Northolt. The person on the other end was quite articulate, far more so than the usual scammers I encounter. There was a hint of a Filipino-American accent, I think. She claimed that I owed £1.55 because of insufficient postage.
