Got a call from someone named "Pam Lopez" claiming to be with the "Global Economic Forum" and said she wanted to ask about the UK's economic situation. When I asked where she was calling from, she said Singapore. Then she started asking if I was working or ran a business. I questioned why she was using a London phone number if she was abroad, and how she could expect trust when she was blocking her real number and ignoring the UK’s Telephone Preference Service rules. She ended the call right after that. Not sure what they were trying to achieve, but it smelled like a load of rubbish to me.

I kept getting calls from this number, kept ignoring it cos I had a feeling it was some scam from India - turns out I was spot on after looking it up here. It’s crazy how many dodgy calls come from that place trying to rip people off.

Got a call from a woman saying she was from royal mail, asking for my email regarding a parcel. I gave it to her while we were on the phone, then got an email that definitely wasn’t from royal mail. She tried to keep me talking so I’d pay, but when I questioned her, she couldn’t explain a thing. Seriously, don’t send any money!

I got a call from someone saying they were with Royal Mail, though their accent seemed South Asian, maybe Indian. They said I owed some kind of charge on a parcel I was waiting for because postage hadn’t been covered. I tried a few times nervously to get them to confirm my email address, but despite them saying they'd send me a message, it never arrived. They wanted to ring me again in a few minutes, but to this day, no call back.

Total scam alert. They claimed a parcel was sent to me a few weeks back and I had to pay postage on delivery. That’s not how Royal Mail work - they never ring up to ask for money, instead they post a grey ‘Fee to pay’ card through your door. Be careful and don’t share your email with these lot!

I got a call from a woman saying she was from Royal Mail. She told me I owed £1.55 for postage, but then she tried to withdraw a lot more money from my bank. Thankfully, I managed to block the payments before anything went through. No doubt this was a scam!

I got a call from a lady who didn't speak much English, saying she was from Royal Mail. She told me there was an unpaid fee for a parcel they had at a depot in London. She even knew my name and phone number. She asked for my email so she could send payment details or said I could pay over the phone to get the package delivered. When I asked for an official unpaid postage notice from Royal Mail, she couldn’t tell me my address. Pretty sure it was a scam.

Someone rang me saying they were from Royal Mail, but wouldn’t tell me my address and insisted my phone number was written on the parcel. They said they’d email me details, but that never came through. Instead, I got a text with a link, which they told me to click. They kept insisting it wasn’t a scam, but when I asked questions, they couldn’t really answer and just hung up once I brought up this site. I was left on the line waiting to find out if I had to pay anything for the parcel.

Got a call earlier today from a lady speaking with an accent that definitely wasn’t British. She said she was from Royal Mail and that a parcel was waiting for me, maybe a “Christmas present” or something. She mentioned it weighed about 0.75kg and said I’d need to pay £1.55 to receive it. Pretty sure it’s just a scam.

Got a call from someone claiming Royal Mail had attempted to drop off a parcel three times but couldn’t locate my address. They mentioned I owed £1.55 and asked me to pay over the phone. I refused, so he said he’d send me a link by email. He wanted me to look at it right then while he stayed on the line, but I explained I couldn’t do that while talking. Then he said he’d call me back, which he eventually did, but I didn’t pick up. These dodgy callers really need to be stopped.

Got a call from a lady speaking with what sounded like an Asian accent. She told me Royal Mail was holding a parcel because apparently, the postage wasn’t paid. The gist was that if I wanted it delivered, I’d have to cough up £1 for postage. It all felt a bit dodgy, so I said I’d call back later. Before I could say anything else, she just cut the call!

Some woman called claiming to be from Royal Mail about a parcel from London that supposedly had insufficient postage. I told her she could just pop a card through my letterbox like usual, but she said that wouldn’t work. Then I told her to send it back to the sender so they could fix the postage, but she said there was a chance the parcel might get lost that way. I was shocked that Royal Mail would admit to risking losing a parcel, but said I’d be happy to take that chance. She kept pushing hard, so I ended up hanging up.

This happened to me too... I told her if that was the case I'd just pick up the parcel from the sorting centre. She said I had to wait until Monday, not today (which was Saturday). But less than half an hour later the parcel arrived. She also tried to get me to pay online, but the postman said there wasn’t any extra postage fee. Honestly, I reckon it’s something fishy going on behind the scenes.

I got a call from the same number and it’s definitely not from Royal Mail. The number's actually a virtual line linked to Wavecrest. I’ve already reached out to Wavecrest to let them know about the scam and the dodgy activity tied to that number. If anyone else wants to report it, their number is 02070974000. Since they own the number, they can block it and find out who’s behind it (who's paying the bills), so it should be pretty simple to track down.

Had a call from a woman speaking with a strong Far East accent, saying she was from Royal Mail. She told me I needed to pay £1.55 for a parcel she said was waiting for me in London! While she was talking, I kept her on the line and quickly searched the number online, landing on this site... I asked why a package addressed to me was stuck in London when I’m based up North East. I also asked how she got my mobile, and she claimed the number was printed on the parcel itself! Then I questioned why Royal Mail wasn’t just doing their usual thing - leaving a card through my door, especially since normally that’s how they handle things. She kept dodging my questions, and just as I pressed her more, she suddenly cut me off and hung up!

Had a similar thing happen to me like others have mentioned. A woman with a foreign accent called, claiming a package was on its way from Amazon. When I asked who had sent it, she just repeated it was from Amazon. Told her I usually get free delivery from them so it was odd, but I ended up giving her my email anyway. Fingers crossed I’m not swamped with junk mail now. Seriously wondering how on earth she managed to get hold of my phone number in the first place.

Just like loads of others, I got a ring from this woman who kept repeating the same spiel. I got suspicious straight away since Royal Mail never call me about packages, ever! I got a call from a woman speaking with a European accent, saying she was calling on behalf of Royal Mail. She correctly said my name and told me there was a parcel I was expecting that hadn’t been fully paid for - the sender supposedly missed paying £1 on the postage, and that needed sorting before delivery. Got a call from a woman speaking with a foreign accent claiming to be from Royal Mail. She said there was a parcel stuck because the postage hadn’t been paid. First, she tried to send me an email, but after 5 minutes of waiting and nothing arriving, she said the system was down and sent me a text instead. The link took me to a site that looked all official, had Royal Mail logos, small print and everything, showing an invoice for £1.55 with a “pay now” option. She was very pushy, telling me to stay on the phone while I ‘paid’. I told her I wasn’t handing over anything in case it was a scam, then hung up. She said it was at their Brighton sorting centre and knew both my name and phone number, but wouldn’t tell me anything else, like who sent it. Someone rang me saying they were from Royal Mail out of Northolt. The lady spoke really well, way clearer than most dodgy calls I get, with a bit of a Filipino-American sort of accent I reckon.
