I received a rather bothersome call on my landline today. This cold caller seemed to have some personal information, such as my name and my internet service provider, BT. They claimed that my internet had been hacked and offered to guide me on how to secure it against these so-called rogue accounts. Curious about their legitimacy, I inquired about a callback number and was given a London-based one. However, when I rang that number, the individual on the other end was completely unaware of the caller who had initially contacted me and was rather evasive. Sensing something was off, I hung up without further discussion. Almost instantly, they attempted to ring me back-first from an unfamiliar number, then from an international line. Quite dubious behaviour, if you ask me!
