I got a call from an automated voice, something about me being under investigation for tax fraud or a tax deficiency. When I tried ringing back on the number they gave, it just wouldn’t connect. Pretty dodgy if you ask me.

I got a call from 02086380865 with a recorded voice accusing me of fraud and saying I was being investigated by the police. They claimed to be from HMRC and told me to ring another number for details about the so-called offence. I didn’t catch the second number, so I tried ringing back but it was constantly busy with no ring. I’m planning to get in touch with my phone company to have this number blocked ASAP.

There's a scam going around right now with HMRC fraudsters using this and other 0208 638 numbers. They use a native English voice to try and frighten you into ringing back, but it sounds like it's run by some sort of Indian scam group. They’re not the sharpest, but those automated calls can be pretty scary the first time you get one. This number is definitely dodgy - it's a scam trying to steal your cash. I wouldn’t say keep calling them to mess with them, but if you do, they usually shut that number down pretty fast.

My elderly mum got a call from 02086380865, and it was some robotic voice accusing her of tax fraud! It’s shocking how these dodgy scam firms use tech and telecom networks to bother and scare genuine folks at home. This number, 02086380865, really ought to be blocked. The company behind it should have their service disconnected right away.
