Got a bloke on the phone claiming to be with a home energy provider. He used a wrong surname, which I know comes from an old mistake made over a decade ago and, I guess, that data got passed around. Seems like they’re on a loop because loads of calls come through with the same wrong name. The guy was quite polite, but kept going on, which was a bit much. He said they’ll keep ringing until I complete some survey. Not happening, so tough luck to them! My call block list is all full up, so I’ve just saved the number as ‘Don’t answer’ in my contacts instead.

Got a call today at 11:55 from 02085889832. The guy knew my name and claimed he worked for a home insulation company. He then asked me to verify my address, which made me suspicious straight away. I questioned why he needed so much info and told him I’d never heard of the company or made any enquiries. Suddenly, he ended the call without warning. It’s just another one of those scam calls. Given how many times this number pops up, I wonder why Ofcom haven’t stepped in yet? Feels like we’re getting bombarded with these dodgy calls every day and nothing ever gets done.

I just got a call and the minute my answering machine picked up, they dropped the call. I only let the answerphone kick in these days because of all the dodgy calls I keep getting, and I only bother picking up if I know the person’s voice. Honestly, barely any of them leave a message - probs like 1% at best!

Someone rang me up about loft insulation and called me by my name, so they must have got my info from somewhere. I told them I wasn't interested and that I can sort out my own insulation checks, no bother. Definitely felt like a scam to me.

Got a phone call from some bloke claiming to be from Energy Guard Insulation Ltd about loft insulation. He wanted to pop round to do a 'free' roof survey. I told him I wasn’t comfortable letting someone in who just cold-called me, plus we’re on the TPS register. He got pretty rude and started being sarcastic, then ended with ‘your loss’ and just hung up on me. If that’s how they treat their potential clients, I doubt it was a proper sales approach at all.

Earlier today, someone rang me from this number claiming to be associated with Call Guard, insisting that I had an outstanding final payment regarding some sort of scam prevention service. He waffled on about the sum I supposedly owed, but I wasn't convinced at all, since I cleared my account with the company I dealt with a year and a half back. I promptly hung up and made sure to block the number through BT. Thankfully, he didn't manage to gain any personal information from me.

I got a call from a friendly young bloke about loft insulation. We set up a time for them to come round next week to have a look. However, after reading some other things, I’ve chosen to cancel the appointment.

Beware of this dodgy outfit! They won't bother calling you back to clarify anything after a missed call. They sneakily avoid leaving a message, banking on you to return the call. I never invite these chancers to ring me! Whenever I get a missed call with no message, I make it a point to look the number up online. If it raises any red flags, I promptly block it. Best to stay on the safe side!

Spoke to a very courteous woman who claimed there was fibreglass insulation in my loft roof. She mentioned I'd signed up for some renewable energy survey ages ago. Offered a free survey that would only take about half an hour. Mentioned a discount if we were over 80 and wanted to try their Polymide foam insulation. I said no thank you. Told her I’d get a mate who works in roofing to check it out and give me his opinion. It seemed to me they were just trying to sell that foam insulation in the end. Definitely not something I trust.

I got a call from 02085889832 and they actually called me by my name, talking about wall insulation. I told them straight away I wasn’t interested and that I knew it was a dodgy call. It turns out it was connected to another one I had yesterday from 01732758291 about loft insulation. I looked into it and saw that besides loft insulation, they’re running a scam on wall cavity insulation too. There’s apparently a third insulation-related scam they do as well. What really freaked me out was how they clearly had my personal info, which feels a bit sinister.

Got a call earlier from someone asking if I had rockwool insulation in my loft and if they could check it to make sure it was the right kind. I told them it was private and ended the call straight away. I’ve now blocked the number and marked it as suspicious because I didn’t like the idea of them trying to get access to my home.

I received a phone call today from someone purporting to be a "Home Efficiency Consultant for West Sussex." When I inquired about which firm she represented, she mentioned Energy Guard and proceeded to tell me that my address was on her priority list due to having outdated loft insulation. I questioned her about whether I had asked for her to ring me, to which she admitted I had not. She retorted that I ought to have mentioned it earlier in our conversation. I countered that it was her who shouldn't be contacting me in the first place! Shortly after, she abruptly ended the call.

Just after midday, around 12:10pm, I received a call from someone claiming to be 'Charles.' He inquired about my address, which I firmly declined to share. When I told him I wasn’t interested in chatting, he had the audacity to mimic my response in a rather cheeky tone. Luckily, a gentleman who was with me at that moment took the phone and said, "Don’t mess about and just leave!" I could hear him mumble something back, and I promptly hung up.
